A winner off 65 on the Flat for Dianne Sayer last year (2m 1f, good to soft) and recently changed yards to one that has been going well enough of late. 2lb drop today plus his jockey's claim to come off, so may well be very competitive. Market check advised.
8lb lower than his latest win, which was way back in 2014. Has clearly had problems, with only three starts since then and looks in need of further assistance from the handicapper before coming good again.
0-19 in all starts in both forms of the game. Pulled up latest but showed enough from higher marks in November and December to suggest that he could be in the shake-up for some prize money.
Unfancied on all five starts this season and has never threatened. Not without hope if he could ever repeat the ability he showed in bumpers and first-time cheek pieces are the latest attempt to wring something out of him.
Shown little or nothing in all seven starts under rules and very hard to fancy.
Has threatened more than most of these to get his hands on a gold medal including over C&D in this race last year, when beaten a short-head from a 3lb higher mark. Has been tried in a variety of headgear and can run well in it, so not ruled out.
Runner-up at Bangor last time and races from same mark today. Headgear being sported for the first-time and could make an impact with sizeable claim of his rider.
Not seen out since May 2015, so has clearly had issues and she now has that lengthy break to overcome. Has made the frame over a similar trip before today when conditions were the same as forecast here.
Plodder who came closest to making an impact two starts ago at Newcastle (2m 6f, soft), though was well beaten from this same mark last time.
Forecasts
Bell Weir (11/8), Ask Paddy (5/2), Only A Tipple (15/2), Kisumu (9/1), Diego Suarez (14/1), Episode (16/1), Should I Stay (20/1), Broadway Belle (33/1), Rhythm Of Sound (40/1)
One of those races where whatever is in the form book a close eye on the market is advised. Without that knowledge the suggestion is ONLY A TIPPLE, who may be able to make the most of his rider's healthy claim and first-time headgear after a reasonable run last time. Bell Weir is one for whom support is likely to be significant, while Kisumu and Diego Suarez are others who merit mentions.
1. Only A Tipple
2. Bell Weir
3. Diego Suarez
