Moderate Flat performer who has shown a bit of promise in this sphere, winning at Wetherby at the second time of asking last month (2m, good to soft). Now has to shoulder a penalty for that, making this tougher but may still be more to come from him.
First run over hurdles. Made the frame at Redcar on his Flat debut (1m 1f, heavy) in April, though ended up rated 65 and in a seller back at the same track after three subsequent starts, all for Tony Coyle. Big ask to come good today.
52-rated Flat performer, who was runner-up in that sphere at Wolverhampton when last seen in December (9.5f) sporting a first-time visor. Likely to see out the trip, though has questions to answer with regard to both the ground and his hurdling.
65,000 Euros purchase as a yearling, though his price has gone on the slide at subsequent sales. Good pedigree has thus far nor yielded a win on the Flat of over jumps. Not beyond hope, especially with the yard's runners in reasonable form and could again have a say in where the prize money goes.
Ralph Beckett tried his best to get a win out of this Naaqoos gelding on the Flat, though he was a three-times runner-up at Southwell over a mile, achieving a BHA rating of 75 at his best. Has changed hands twice in quick succession, so interesting to see how he fares on his first start for this yard that is doing well with those discarded by others.
Moderate Flat performer who has failed to inspire in three hurdles runs to date. Did make the frame last time and still time for improvement, so can't totally rule out in a contest thin on quality.
Has run with credit when making the frame twice this winter, though on a line through Fidux he has plenty to find to be troubling Allfredandnobell here. Frame claims again.
Gave Allfredandnobell 5lb and a two and three-quarter length beating when they finished behind Fidux here over C&D (good) in November. Taking that at face value he now has 12lb in hand on the re-opposing topweight and this probably represents his best chance of breaking his hurdling duck.
Fast ground winner over 10f at Chester in August from a moderate mark of 47. Found out in that sphere since and looked in need of plenty of jumping practice when unseating on his hurdling debut at Bangor. Not difficult to oppose.
Forecasts
Walsingham Grange (5/6), Allfredandnobell (7/2), The Otmoor Poet (5/1), Shrubland (7/1), Moon Arrow (20/1), Mr Globetrotter (20/1), Rain In The Face (50/1), Jasper Jay (200/1), Desert Tango (250/1)
Not much of a contest to kick-off proceedings and WALSINGHAM GRANGE has his best chance yet of adding a jumping win the the Flat success on his CV. He wouldn't be a shoo-in, but with a 12lb pull over an opponent that he has already beaten, albeit in defeat, he should go very close. That opponent is Allfredandnobell, who has subsequently gone on to win an despite ein penalised he should still be thereabouts in this poor field. Rain In The Face and Mr Globetrotter may also be involved in the shake-up for the frame.
1. Walsingham Grange
2. Allfredandnobell
3. Rain In The Face
