Both AW victories during his career have come at Wolverhampton, including on his penultimate start (7f for this rider) so should handle the switch to Newcastle. Has never won off a mark in the 70's hence the switch to a classified stakes, but very few questions regarding surface or trip.
Not able to back up a solid effort here early last month, when only sixth of 12 to Safe Voyage in a C&D handicap recently. However, that winner has won since, and this gelding is a seven time AW winner from 27 starts, so is dangerous to write off easily.
Has taken a few runs to find his feet since returning from a 13 month absence in October, but has been placed the last twice in a Class 4 handicap, and in a claimer. Appeared suited by a return to this 7f trip latterly at Wolverhampton, so should again run his race at this level.
Finished four and three quarter lengths fourth of six to a previous winner on return from a short break in a C&D handicap last week. That was just his second AW start, so remains unexposed on artificial surfaces, but wears the first time visor today, so connections possibly think he's been keeping a little back for himself.
Top rated (75), and has been in much better form than the majority of these rivals over recent months. Whilst he lost his unbeaten record here to Eastern Dragon recently, he's been versatile in terms of trip all winter, with this 7f possibly his optimum. Another solid run looks likely, with the only slight concern being this smaller field (has thrived on the hustle and bustle of larger fields).

As always, a trappy classified stakes, with the six runners split by just 5lb on official ratings (all rated 70 to 75). The top rated ROCK WARBLER has been in rude health here all winter, and whilst he lost his unbeaten record here most recently, he very much ran his race. This smaller field is a different test, but the majority of these rivals are out of form, with only Capolavoro and Mehdi able to string together reasonable back to back performances lately, with the former appearing to be the biggest danger to Rock Warbler.
1. Rock Warbler
2. Capolavoro
3. Mime Dance
