Last win came here 11 months ago from 1lb higher in the handicap and while he's not been in much form on last two AW starts, he's dangerous to rule out, especially if he can get an early lead.

Finished fourth on AW debut last time out but losing run starting to mount up and not won since 2015. Has scored from 1lb higher in the handicap on turf and connections will be hoping this can be run at quick pace for this hold up performer.

Habitual front-runner who seems better suited around Chelmsford than here. Unplaced on last six starts and unlikely to get an easy time of things on the front end so others are preferred.

Appears suited by the step up to middle distances but never managed to catch Sennockian Star here last time. That winner has gone in again since though and he ought to go close if settling better. Jockey booking suggests a big run is expected.

Scored off a reduced mark at Chelmsford last time and raced wide much of the way so 5lb seems reasonable. Still well-handicapped on old form and ought to go close again.

Scored at this course two starts back, benefiting from some going too hard off the front end. Up 4lb when narrowly beaten at Wolverhampton last time and up a further 2lb for that. Struggled off this kind of mark in the past and others preferred.

Last two wins came in sellers/claimers but looks well handicapped on bits and pieces of form. Finished third at odds of 100/1 at Wolverhampton last time and claims if building on that run.

Former Godolphin recruit who made just one start in France for previous yard. Very few signs she retains much ability on recent return from absence at Wolverhampton and plenty to prove for now.

His three wins have all come around this distance and he has been running well in defeat recently. Another who should enjoy the expected strong pace and feasibly handicapped on old form.

Another front-runner who was below form in recent Wolverhampton claimer and is likely to need plenty more back in a handicap. Takes a significant step up in trip and has won over a furlong shorter before but faces plenty of competition for the lead.

Won over C&D two starts back recording second win of a 32-race career. Certainly capable of scoring off this kind of mark when everything drops right but not one to rely upon.

Had the run of the race two starts back at Wolverhampton but failed to back that up last time at the same course from a 6lb higher mark. Has been inconsistent in eight starts to date but still early days for this one and likely to do better at some stage.

Forecasts

Monsieur Rieussec (4/1), Alcatraz (9/2), Zabeel Star (5/1), Daisy Boy (7/1), Persun (9/1), Camakasi (10/1), Priors Brook (10/1), Giantstepsahead (12/1), Dakota City (14/1), Elusive Cowboy (16/1), Langlauf (22/1), The Gay Cavalier (25/1), Black Dave (33/1), Hard To Handel (66/1)

Verdict

GIANTSTEPSAHEAD drops to a mark one pound lower than what he won off here 11 months ago and he shaped okay without setting the world alight on last start so he may be able to get his head back in front at a track he is proven at. Alcatraz get the services of Adam Kirby and he finished behind Sennockian Star here last time after conceding first run. That winner has franked the form so he ought to remain competitive. Dakota City is well-handicapped on some of his form and will enjoy an expected strong pace to run at. 1. Giantstepsahead 2. Alcatraz 3. Dakota City
