In good form on the tapeta at Newcastle over the summer and has finished second over this C&D but been badly out of form this winter and mark is sliding as a result. Likely to want a strong pace to run at, especially from this draw.
C&D winner who won three times last year all over 5f. Back to form last time out in this combination of headgear when running a good second over 5f from a poor draw at Southwell. Has won over 6f but suspicion that the minimum trip suits her better.
Developed issues with leaving the stalls and hasn't managed to get his head in front since 2014 so clearly a risky proposition but did run well behind the well-handicapped Irish raider Oor Jock at the start of the year. Managed to break on terms last time when sixth of 11 but failed to settle and he's one that needs everything to drop right, as his profile suggest.
Modest handicapper with just one win to his name on the AW at Chelmsford over 6f. Yet to win a handicap but came close when going down by a neck at Southwell last time out in a Class 7 event and claims if building on that.
Has fallen back to attractive mark on the best of his old form and hasn't been disgraced in recent outings. Vulnerable to a turn of foot though so will probably find a few too good once again.
Consistent type that is struggling to get his head in front at the moment (not won since 2015). Likely to give it another good go from the front and there's not much pace in the race so he may get an early lead but his optimum trip is probably the minimum distance.
Still a maiden after 17 starts and only placed once on the AW with a second in a seller at Southwell. Been largely running in Ireland since that effort and may find this less competitive but needs to pull out more.
First time cheekpieces seemed to work wonders last time out, finishing a close second when just caught on the line. Top amateur booked and likely to take some beating provided the headgear has the same effect again.
One win from 17 starts on the AW but not recorded a placed effort since 2013 and she hasn't looked like quite the same mare since returning from a three-year absence; unplaced in three starts in the summer.
Forecasts
Autumn Tonic (11/4), Castlerea Tess (4/1), Menelik (4/1), Misu Pete (9/2), Pillar (7/1), Intense Starlet (10/1), Very First Blade (16/1), Swendab (20/1), Portrush Storm (100/1)
CASTLEREA TESS is likely to be of warm order with top amateur jockey Simon Walker booked and provided the headgear has the same effect as last time, she may take all the beating in this weak affair. Swendab could be dangerous if he's allowed an easy lead and Very First Blade bounced back to form last time out and may fare even better from a kinder draw,
1. Castlerea Tess
2. Swendab
3. Very First Blade
