Only a modicum of promise on debut at Lingfield (hooded) when fourth to Rebel State. That form isn't working out, and although he may improve for the experience, he will need to.
No promise when well beaten on only start here in December, and yard not noted for Maiden winners.
Slight improvement on second start at Wolverhampton when fading out of the contest late, but that is only moderate form. Switch to Fibresand may help (sire has good strike rate on surface).
Well beaten all three starts (under both codes) and has shown possible signs of temperament as well.
Too green to do himself justice at Lingfield on his only start there in December but went off second favourite and presumably was thought capable of better. From a good yard and improvement here wouldn't surprise.
Much better on second start at Newcastle (quite keen, faded late) when not beaten that far in finishing sixth to Moamar, but will make more appeal when going into handicaps after this.
Caught the eye when staying on from the rear at Wolverhampton on latest start and appears to be learning with racing. Yard go well with limited runners here and wouldn't need much more improvement to get involved today.
Beaten favourite twice from four runs already, and addition of cheekpieces at Newcastle last time didn't bring about any improvement. Needs to settle better, but John Gosden has a good record at Southwell and this is a weak race.
Like many from the Hughie Morrison yard, very green on debut but showed promise when staying on into midfield behind Almoner. Different surface here but not without hope if improving from that debut.
Would have a leading chance of showing the form she showed when a half-length second to Dream Team here in December, but disappointed when made a short-priced favourite here on latest start. Possibly best to forgive that (missed break after stumbling at start) and worth another chance in first time blinkers here.
Forecasts
Warm Words (6/4), Vantage Point (7/4), State Residence (6/1), Alhajjaj (10/1), Finale (12/1), Spey Secret (25/1), Duxbury (33/1), Knightsbridge Liam (66/1), Way Up High (250/1), Barbary Prince (250/1)
In a weak race, it may be worth giving another chance to Warm Words, who was disappointing on her latest start but her race was effectively over after a furlong after stumbling out of the stalls. Her previous second to Dream Team has mixed messages coming from it (winner well beaten next time, but third a winner at Newcastle on next start) but it looks good enough here. She's taken to beat State Residence, who seems to be going the right way and may well improve again here, and Vantage Point, a little disappointing to date but the switch to Fibresand may help and the yard have a good record here.
1. Warm Words
2. State Residence
3. Vantage Point
