Bumper winner and generally consistent in that sphere, off the track since April ahead of his first jumping test but should be well prepared by champion trainer.
Couple of decent efforts in three attempts over hurdles so far, probably vulnerable in terms of winning the race but holds place claims.
Agonisingly denied in 2m4f Leopardstown bumper but that was more than two years ago. Has performed well in that sphere but long absence tempers enthusiasm for this first jumps outing.
Bumper form doesn't make as strong a reading as some of today's rivals and will need to improve for jumping to win.
Well beaten off in Limerick bumper last month, that his only run in public to date and makes little appeal for this.
Never a factor in similar contest at Navan a week ago when sent off 100/1, similar story here in all probability.
Struggled in pair of maiden hurdle appearances in 2015, back in running in bumpers since and disappointing when last spotted in February.
Beaten out of sight in Leopardstown maiden hurdle over 2m3f a month ago.
Leopardstown run last month hinted at some degree of promise and his looks easier on paper, could challenge for minor money.
Second run back off a break at Punchestown earlier this month but failed to progress and has his work cut out in this.
Most recent run at Thurles was very underwhelming, apparently not fancying the job at hand in the slightest, needs to prove himself.
Racing to the rear in a 22-runner field at Punchestown in November and unable to make up any ground when called for effort, off since.
Racecourse debut comes here, closely related to former Champion Hurdler Jezki and out of the same yard which gives him some appeal.
Jumps debut at Thurles this month wasn't overly impressive, hurdling technique was only average and needs to improve.
Limerick bumper winner last term, made hurdles bow at this track earlier in the month over two-miles and wouldn't need to improve much to grab this prize.
Some promise early on in bumpers but that has generally been eroded in three starts over hurdles and left with something to prove as a result.
Shaped with some promised in Limerick two-mile hurdle in December, since run less encouragingly in a bumper at Leopardstown.
Came back from long layoff in first start for this trainer at Fairyhouse recently, will need to find significant improvement to play any sort of part in this.
Mare was no better than midfield in a two-mile maiden hurdle at this venue recently and will do well to get involved now stepped up in trip.
Lightly raced eight-year-old showed decent aptitude for this when debuting at Thurles over two-miles last month, goes up in trip here and entitled to offer something more.
There was little encouragement in Leopardstown bumper run last month and has to be left to it for hurdles bow.
Forecasts
Mossback (11/8), Augustin (5/2), Bosco Di Alco (9/2), Snugsborough Hall (10/1), Jetz (11/1), Louie The Second (22/1), Miss Mardan (25/1), Westland Row (25/1), Cappacon (33/1), Wood Emery (40/1), Fish A Wish (50/1), Bulls Head (50/1), Flynnvincible (50/1), Baby Bob (66/1), Mauna Kea (66/1), I Will Follow (66/1), Run Don't Hide (66/1), Fairwood Native (66/1), Lios Na Si (100/1), Kitty Power (100/1), Irish Mustard (100/1)
Augustin comes back to the track after a layoff and gets plenty respect for the champion trainer having performed well in bumpers but preference is for MOSSBACK who has race fitness on his side. He ran a race full of promise at this track three weeks ago when close-up fifth of 25 runners and can take a step forward to land this pot. Cappacon would potentially get the vote for this race but for a long, long layoff meaning his well-being must be taken on trust. Bosco Di Alco has decent place claims on what we’ve seen to date with Miss Mardan also likely to show more now while newcomer Jetz is closely related to his trainer's Champion Hurdle hero of 2014.
1. Mossback
2. Augustin
3. Jetz
