Money was down at Market Rasen last time and for a while he looked like landing the gamble. A reproduction of that would give him a chance here and he has won on a sound surface.
Made a successful chasing debut at Leicester (good) a couple of weeks ago and up 7lb for that, though with yard still in form he may be capable of further improvement in this sphere.
Yard flying at present and good pilot booked for this chasing debut. Claims from this mark if able to reproduce last May's good ground Kempton hurdles effort over fences.
Wouldn't call December's Fakenham third red hot form, though this longer trip, good ground and the return to chasing from a 5lb lower mark than last time over the bigger obstacles may see a revival in fortunes.
Not far away from this mark on firm ground over two miles at Leicester last month and conditions may not have suited (heavy) last time. Back on a sound surface he is worth another try at this trip.
Heavy ground Bangor handicap hurdle winner from 13lb lower last April. Likely to be well schooled for chasing debut, though perhaps best watched on this occasion.
Chase debut from a workable mark for this three times placed hurdler. Has only raced on good ground or slower so far, though his sire has had plenty of winners on a sound surface.
Dual PTP winner who was well beaten in a couple of hunter chases last spring and has shown nothing in two hurdles in recent weeks.
Down the field in three novices' hurdles since joining current yard and low mark to begin handicap chasing as a result. Little for us to go on so far.
Yard among the winners of late and this representative is now 9lb better off with Baraza for a defeat of 15-lengths at Leicester last time. Connections clearly think he will stay this far and a market check is advised.
Forecasts
Baraza (2/1), Ypsilanti (13/2), Glengra (7/1), Routine Procedure (8/1), Make Me A Fortune (8/1), Jade's Legend (17/2), Summer Sounds (12/1), Normandy King (14/1), Opechee (14/1), Pettal (33/1)
With the Ian WIlliams team running well right now we will side with GLENGRA to score on ground that will suit him, while Baraza should go well in trying to deft a 7lb rise for his Leicester win. Routine Procedure could run a big race with just a feather weight to carry, while Summer Sounds is another to consider.
1. Glengra
2. Baraza
3. Routine Procedure
