Raced solely at Chelmsford in three starts since switching from turf this winter, and a runner up there over 7f in early November, he quickly went one better the following week when an easy three plus length winner (same trip). Had a 9lb hike for that success and below par last time (over a mile), but contender here back in trip with stable apprentice taking the mount.

A winner of a 6f Apprentices handicap at Thirsk in July (for Lewis Edmunds), before saddle slipped on next start at Ayr. Below par last time at Musselburgh (September) and an absence to overcome. Fifth in a maiden run in driving rain here on sole AW start in June.

Stable in form, but hit with a hefty rise for scoring over 6f at Southwell in December (10lbs), and vulnerable off this mark of 75.

Finished last in a claimer for this trainer when last seen at Beverley in August and absence to overcome, but is three from seven on the AW, and a winner on Tapeta in 2014, so could bounce back. A C&D winner on turf here in July 2015, which is worth bearing in mind given that the track retains the same undulations despite the surface switch.

Ex Irish, and a 1m maiden winner at the Curragh for Ger Lyons in August 2015, but little promise in two starts for this yard so far.

Classy performer back in the day, but on a long losing run, and now 0 from 4 on the AW having disappointed the last twice since finishing second here in a 1m Classified Stakes in October.

Stable back amongst the winners of late, and this gelding outran market expectations last time in finishing third over C&D to Dutch Art Dealer (runner up Roller runs earlier tonight), and has been dropped 1lb since. Clear chance if able to reproduce that form and has gone well in Amateur riders races in the past, and this Apprentices contest isn't too dissimilar.

Shown little in four starts here this winter, but has dropped 11lbs as a result, and was second off a mark of 80 as recently as August on turf at Musselburgh. Inexperienced rider aboard.

Won a claimer for Roger Teal at Wolverhampton in June (7f), and probably needed the run on debut for this yard in November, but finished second next time in a 1m1f Wolverhampton claimer, but back into a better race here.

Won by six lengths at Wolverhampton on penultimate start (7f, off a mark of 53), but unable to cope with the 13lb rise and step up in trip finishing ninth of 11 back at the Midlands track early last month. No surprise to see him dropped back in trip.

Not as effective at this trip as over 6f, and whilst a course winner from a 1lb higher mark in November (dead-heat) under Shirley Teasdale, she partners Zoravan today.

Forecasts

Curzon Line (7/2), Safe Voyage (11/2), Wahaab (11/2), Ticks The Boxes (8/1), Jubilee Brig (8/1), Win Lose Draw (9/1), Restive (9/1), Green Howard (9/1), The Tichborne (14/1), Argaki (16/1), Zoravan (16/1), Order Of Service (20/1), Jess (25/1)

Verdict

The handicapper has had his say with both Curzon Line and Win Lose Draw, but hasn't been afforded that luxury yet with ZORAVAN who races under a six pound penalty here following Thursday's Southwell success. Whilst he might not be as effective on Tapeta, he's most likely thrown in here off this mark and looks the type to run up a sequence for Keith Dalgleish. Should he falter for any reason, the more exposed Jubilee Brig can strike if reproducing a good run here last time with a talented Apprentice taking the mount. 1. Zoravan 2. Jubilee Brig 3. Curzon Line
