Well supported (9/2cf) when a decisive scorer of a similar C&D handicap six weeks ago on her 22nd start under rules. Raised 7lbs to a mark of 67 and retains the hood with P J McDonald taking over in the saddle.

Not won since March 2014 when landing a hat-trick for Andrew Balding and has taken a few runs to return to form after an 11 month break, but was second (in a seller) last time off this mark at Wolverhampton.

Made all off a slow pace here on penultimate start late last month to hold off the fast finishing Newmarket Warrior by a neck. Unable to repeat the same tactics last time at Wolverhampton off a revised mark of 65.

Placed from marks in the high 70's last summer (Chester, Haydock and Hamilton) but struggled in five starts on the AW including when 12th of 13 over 7f here last month. Dropped 13lbs since November 4th and now rated just 64.

Maiden who finished last of 11 to Swansway over C&D last month on her first start for five months. Entitled to improve for that run but needs to significantly.

Showed a sharp turn of foot to readily account for Bromance (didn't get the run of the race) last time over C&D. Raised 4lbs since and a major player at a track which clearly suits.

Has done well for new connections in two starts since leaving Conor Dore, with the first time visor having a positive effect last time when seeing off all bar Rock Warbler (who is unbeaten at this track). Contender from a 2lbs higher mark.

9/2
Unable to reel in Swansway after being trapped in a pocket at a crucial stage over C&D late last month (finished strongly). Has a fair chance of reversing placings on 4lbs better terms, and despite remaining a maiden, has shown enough at this track to be off the mark sooner rather than later.

12/1
Course winner over 7f from a 2lbs lower mark in November, but is a tricky ride and needs all of the cards to drop his way. Remains in fair form and was second over this trip in early November despite racing over shorter distances of late.

Seven race maiden who has finished last on each of his last two starts (at Brighton and Wolverhampton). Little to recommend him here despite a basement mark of 45.

Forecasts

Swansway (6/4), Star of Spring (9/2), Bromance (9/2), Orlando Rogue (13/2), Bell Heather (8/1), Mr Potter (12/1), The Magic Pencil (12/1), Pool House (20/1), Dominannie (33/1), Nelson's Bay (33/1), Royal Acclaim (80/1)

Verdict

Another interesting contest is likely with Swansway and BROMANCE quickly renewing battle after their clash here just last week. Swansway showed a sharp turn off foot to score readily on that occasion, but Bromance was travelling equally well when trapped in a pocket and got going all too late to vainly chase the winner. The suspicion was that had she got the run afforded to Swansway she'd have gone mightily close and is the value play here at the likely odds. Star of Spring should be freshened up for a six week break, but has a 7lbs higher mark to defy, whilst Orlando Rogue looks like a winner waiting to happen, but this is possibly just a shade too competitive. 1. Bromance 2. Swansway 3. Orlando Rogue
