Horse A-Z
Winner of the 2014 Betfair Trophy at Newbury and landed his first hurdle since over this course and distance last time. Looked a difficult ride that day and not for the first time. There are no guarantees he can perform to the same level again.
Ffos Las winner on return and failed off a revised mark next time. A 1lb drop in the weights may not be enough.

Had some fair form for Alan King but has struggled on both starts for new yard after a lengthy absence. Cheekpieces are tried and he is dropped in class.

Rattled off three wins in handicap hurdles last season before the asessor got a grip. Highly tried this term and although this is easier there are concerns the trip may be too far.

Trainer in form switches this fair chaser to hurdles where he has a more realistic mark than over fences. Interesting with conditions to suit.

His two best runs have come with this jockey on board and when ground has been very soft. Conditions would have been too quick last time and with everything in his favour he must go close.

Winner of a bumper and a weak novice hurdle at Carlisle. Highly tried next time when making the running and fading from the home turn. He will have his supporters representing a top yard but it is difficult to argue he is well handicapped on the evidence so far.

Has won twice in the mud but he is likely to need this first run since November 2015.

Back on the mark which brought him an 18 length success at Kelso in December 2015. Stable in form and good claimer takes over from lady amateur.

Winner in the mud at Wincanton last April and not disgraced next time. Was going well when coming down at Cheltenham and he would have a chance if none the worse for the experience.

Forecasts

Aintree My Dream (5/2), Dadsintrouble (9/2), Splash of Ginge (5/1), Cultram Abbey (8/1), Very First Time (8/1), Sirop De Menthe (11/1), Maxie T (12/1), Meister Eckhart (14/1), Card Game (25/1), Desilvano (33/1)

Verdict

VERY FIRST TIME has finished first and second from two rides under today's pilot. Ground conditions look ideal and he is taken to build on the promise shown on his reappearance at Carlisle. Aintree My Dream is interesting on his handicap debut. His mark is hardly generous but he has more scope than most of these. Maxie T has been below par this term but with the stable hitting form and back to his last winning mark he has a good each-way shout. 1. Very First Time 2. Aintree My Dream 3. Maxie T
