Remains a 15-race maiden over hurdles but has come closest in this grade and, if the step up in trip suits, it's not out of the question he could finally get a win on the board especially as he's on a career low mark.

C&D winner in Nov '15. Disappointed after that, being pulled-up three times struggling under his heavier weight. Back down to a competitive mark now and though occasionally inconsistent seems to be going to right way again.

Has failed to convince since a series of consistent performances in 2015. Fourth over C&D two starts ago was an improvement, more more needed if she is going to concede weight to some younger rivals here.

Robins Legendv47
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-3| J: B S Hughes| T: C Grant| OR:  89

Soundly beaten on his first four racecourse appearances, but switching to handicap company over third C&D and on similar ground, he acquitted himself much better last time out. Strong place chances if building on that.

Age: 7|  Weight: 11-0| J: R Johnson| T: Tim Vaughan| OR:  86

Very little form in the book except a close second at Ludlow on his first handicap appearance in November. A poor run next time would seem to confirm that that race's form shouldn't be taken seriously, and his handicap mark remains the same. Visor applied.

Paddy's Yarn39
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-0| J: Lorcan Murtagh(7)| T: Mrs V Jackson| OR:  86
28/1
Never gotten within ten lengths of a winner during nine starts since his debut, and looks set for a minor role once again off the same mark which saw him pulled up at Newcastle last time. Often struggles to settle and with jumping.

Lochalsht36
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: Callum Bewley(3)| T: K Scott| OR:  86
12/1
Has seemed outpaced over shorter in three appearances since taking a 2m3f handicap hurdle at Ayr last month. Remains on a high mark but very interesting if taking to the three miles like he should.

Miss Barbossa40
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-9| J: Henry Brooke| T: M Todhunter| OR:  81
5/1
Well beaten on all starts under rules so far, has shown enough to suggest she may be able to be competitive in handicap company in time, but with only a three pound drop from a 13 length loss last time will probably struggle again, even if this may be a slightly weaker race.

Horse silk
Moscow Callingb17
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-6| J: Craig Nichol| T: N G Richards| OR:  78
10/3
Well-regarded gelding who disappointed in his bumper and novice hurdles, but who came on massively for the switch to both handicap company and three miles last time. Today he gets both of those again, and is dangerous even with a four pound increase.

Bollin Julie27
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: Callum Whillans(3)| T: D W Whillans| OR:  69
25/1
Has been disappointing after returning from a lay-off of almost two years. Even if recapturing old form she's entitled to find many of the younger rivals here too good.

Forecasts

Moscow Calling (10/3), Miss Barbossa (5/1), Presenting Berkley (11/2), Touch Of Steel (13/2), Robins Legend (8/1), Pulpitarian (17/2), Andhaar (9/1), Lochalsh (12/1), Bollin Julie (25/1), Paddy's Yarn (28/1)

Verdict

MOSCOW CALLING was clearly a disappointment for connections during his bumper and novice hurdling career but he relished the switch to three miles last time and proved his was on a lenient mark by threatening to land the spoils for the first time in his career. He can come on for that today and defy a four pound rise to notch up a first win. Touch of Steel is another who seems to be on a workable handicap mark following a string of disappointments, while Lochalsh is interesting stepped up to three miles for the first time. 1. Moscow Calling 2. Touch Of Steel 3. Lochalsh
