Went close to winning against the boys at Exeter in November, though hung right when a well beaten favourite at Wincanton next time. Remains on the same mark and this is not as strong a contest, so may be able to do better once more.
Reasonably consistent performer who scored at Cartmel when last seen in June. Comes into this from 1lb above her best winning mark, so certainly capable of making an impact, though has never yet won on ground slower than good.
Came closest to breaking her duck when beaten just under three lengths at Towcester in November off the same mark as today. Well beaten in two subsequent starts and may well do better now taking on her own sex.
Made the frame in similar contest at Hereford in October and return to hurdles after failing to sparkle over the bigger obstacles in two subsequent starts. Even so, the assessor has added 2lb to her mark for this, which leaves her with plenty to do.
Former point-to-point winner who has been well beaten in all five starts under rules. Hails from a top yard, who may fancy their chances of doing something more productive with her from a lowly mark. Has plenty to prove, not least her ability to handle conditions, but a market check is nonetheless advised.
Irish Point To Point winner who has had plenty of experience on soft ground, though shown next to nothing under rules. A third trainer now tries to lower the figures in the form column and if her first run for him was anything to go by, he will need a little while longer yet to work the oracle, though she does at least receive weight from everything else.
Forecasts
What A Diva (5/4), Viking Mistress (9/2), Margaret's Rose (5/1), Lyme Park (8/1), Raising Hope (8/1), Squeeze Me (12/1)
A very moderate affair and with the Peter Bowen yard going well enough we will take WHAT A DIVA to defy top weight. Her Exeter run earlier in the campaign looks a strong performance in the context of this race and a repeat might be good enough. Lyme Park takes on the girls for the first time and that could yield a more positive result. Squeeze Me is capable, though would have preferred a sound surface, while Margaret's Rose would be very interesting from a low mark if the market speaks for her.
