91-rated Flat performer at distances up to 1m 4f, who won a Catterick novices' contest on his hurdles debut in December. Again went well when finding only one too good under a penalty back there on New Year's Day and no reason why he can't go close once again.
Debut bumper winner when with Willie Musson three years ago, Made a promising start to hurdles career at Kempton last spring, but has so far failed to go on from there. Bit to prove, not least where soft ground is concerned.
Nice enough bumper run at Plumpton in November, though has shown little over similar trips in two tries over hurdles to date. Likely to see more from him when switched to handicaps.

Won a point-to-point in November after several attempts and now makes his rules debut. Conditions should not be a problem and a market check is advised.

Landed a point-to-point on debut last spring and some encouragement in both a bumper and a maiden hurdle since making the switch to rules. Likely that the step up in trip will be a positive, while conditions appear to be fine for him.

Locally trained by a man who has most of his winners here. Thus far the gelding has failed to reveal his hand in two bumper and two hurdle outings and it is more likely that he will be seen to better effect when sent handicapping.

Placed in a point-to-point but never involved on recent Doncaster hurdling debut. Should have learned a fair bit from that but hard to recommend until we have seen more.

Crashed out at the first on her hurdling debut before never a factor at Wetherby last time. Rated just 49 on the Flat, but her consistent trainer is likely to be able to squeeze some progress out of her and a better effort here would be no surprise.

Forecasts

Monbeg Oscar (6/5), Master Of Irony (13/8), Broughtons Rhythm (9/2), Land League (14/1), I'm Still Waiting (20/1), Angel In The Snow (50/1), Picknick Park (100/1), Short Flight (100/1)

Verdict

A weak opening contest in which MASTER OF IRONY looks the most solid proposition and is taken to defy a penalty and score. John Quinn's five-year-old will probably stay a fair bit further than this and ran well under his penalty last time. This does not look to be as strong a contest and he can take advantage. Monbeg Oscar has shown glimpses of ability and could build on that to take a hand, while money for Picknick Park would be interesting. Angel In The Snow receives the sex allowance and wouldn't have to be anything special to get involved. 1. Master Of Irony 2. Monbeg Oscar 3. Angel In The Snow
