Out of form over hurdles so far this winter and the switch to the A/W could be something of an attempted confidence booster. Has won previously over C&D but that was 16 months ago and runs here off a 12lb higher mark.

Ran on strongly to score at Kempton last time out over 10 furlongs and likely to see out this step up in distance. Leading contender on that effort and has plenty going for him with questions hanging over many of his rivals.

Veteran dual prupose performer whose had a break since run over hurdles in the summer. Did run very well over C&D when second in a modest maiden last February, but has it to do coming back from a four-month break.

Ran creditably on two of his previous three visits to this track but was never placed to challenge here last time out. Booking of Adam Kirby however catches the eye so wouldn't surprise if posted an improved effort this time.

Three times a winner at Lingfield over this trip, most recently last month. Again ran well when narrowly beaten at Newcastle 10 days ago and, assuming he handles the track, should be very much in the thick of the action.

Went close on a few occasions last year when trained by Paul Cole, but ended up being beaten in a seller. Not out of it with change of yard often bring about improvement in horses, so one to watch on debut for new connections.

Forecasts

Bamako Du Chatelet (7/4), Zabeel Star (15/8), Cottesloe (4/1), Chantecler (9/1), Threediamondrings (12/1), Handsome Dan (16/1), Maroc (50/1)

Verdict

Assuming he will stay the extra two furlongs, Graeme McPherson's ZABEEL STAR is given the nod in a trappy event. He won with something in hand last time out at Kempton and appears to be in very good heart at present. Threediamondrings held every chance when hampered at a critical stage here last time and had previously run very consistently so could be abig danger, while Bamako Du Chatelet has been in good form of late and comes into the reckoning along with Cottesloe, who never got into it last time out. 1. Zabeel Star 2. Threediamondrings 3. Bamako Du Chatelet
