Betway Middle Handicap

Lightly raced maiden filly who hasn't hit form for this yard to date. Has run six times including when made favourite here on penultimate outing and running Major Ben (beaten since) to a length in fifth place. Cheekpieces applied next time but had little effect. Retained today.

Mixes hurdling and Flat and won his maiden on Kempton's AW two years ago. Blinkered for the first time in most recent race and improved to run reliable performer Jumbo Prado to a couple of lengths. Off same rating today and a place likely if that run is reproduced.

Run his last three races over a furlong less at the course and just out of the money before a third off today's mark. Has won off a pound lower and seems set for another placing without winning.

Managed to strike at Chelmsford two starts back but not in the same form at this course last time out. Unsuited by the way the race developed that day and has every chance on previous run.

Lightly raced filly who seems to go on any ground. Raced on AW three times but couldn't break her duck and culminated in a second on turf off today's rating of 59. Been off since August and a look at the market essential though she probably needs to come down a few pounds to produce a win.

Has predominantly campaigned over middle distances with the occasional foray into further and now runs over significantly less. Hard to fancy in current form having put two disappointing performances in for this yard.

Been off the course since a disappointing first effort over hurdles at Perth in September. Prior to that had taken a ten furlongs Beverley handicap off a mark of 55. That was his only win to date but a reward for some decent efforts in northern handicap. Will go well today if taking to the surface and if fit; a reference to the betting on both advised.

Took a Southwell handicap back in the Spring of last year. That was over a mile and he ran on well so today's trip will suit but he hasn't got anywhere near that since. Usual tongue-tie worn again and first time cheekpieces added but unlikely to do the trick.

Ex-Irish Flat and hurdles horse who pops up with a win occasionally but with no pattern to suggest when. Has run well here in the past and won two outings ago at Chelmsford, a course he seems to like. Placed or thereabouts on his last five efforts at this course off marks between 51 and 55, so today's 57 looks just a little too much.

Has raced seven times without getting too close to winning but tries a trip two and a half furlongs further today. Doesn't have the speed for the six and seven furlong races she has been competing in and stayed on slowly to finish eighth, beaten just over a dozen lengths over 7f. Has been wearing a hood since her debut which doesn't shout out about her enthusiasm for the game.

Ran two days ago and the stats don't suggest that such a quick return is usually beneficial. The last time she was turned out so quickly was in August of last year at Brighton where she went from fourth of eight to sixth of nine, backed on both occasions. Same jockey and same mark as in her last two races here when fourth both times and a similar position anticipated.
