Veteran, who despite having tumbled in the weights over the past 12 months still gives weight away to all of his rivals here. Not much promise to have gleamed in any of his four starts since a summer break.
Fifth on handicap debut on Boxing Day at Market Rasen (but was beaten in a seller previously) and tailed off on only other previous try at this sort of trip.
Ex Irish, and a maiden in some fourteen career starts despite only being aged five. Fifth on debut for this yard over 2m at Uttoxeter in October (multiple subsequent winner Annie Alainn fourth) and experienced at this trip.
Quickly left behind a tame effort at Sedgefield on Boxing Day with a good third at Catterick on New Year's Day. Dropped 5lbs to a career low of 95 to provide a fair opportunity to shed the maiden tag.
Uttoxeter bumper winner and twice runner up in novice hurdles (including here), but less promise handicapping until fourth of 12 at Market Rasen on Boxing Day off this mark (Overtoyoujay fifth). Up in trip.
Little promise when starting at big prices in three starts over a wide variety of trips in novice and maiden hurdles. Makes handicap debut here off a mark of 92 with champion jockey in the saddle.
Placed twice in moderate races for Michael Smith, and tailed off by the sixth when making debut for this yard at Catterick last month. Up in trip and others readily preferred.
Dual hurdler winner who appeared to have lost the plot when refusing to race twice in November. Pulled up at Market Rasen in December, and back-peddling when departing three out last time at Catterick. Poor profile, but has gone well for Ryan Day in the past.
Irish PTP winner (May 2015) but has achieved little for this yard including in a similar contest last time at Taunton. Dropped 5lbs to a mark of 87.
Stablemate of Next Lot, and despite being placed in bumpers and a maiden hurdle has struggled in two starts in handicap hurdles. Goes up four furlongs in first time cheek-pieces, having been dropped 4lbs to a mark of 86.
Needs the first time tounge-tie (and combined drop of a further 5lbs) to work the oracle based upon the evidence of his three starts in handicap hurdles to date.
31 race maiden, but second in this at odds of 40/1 from a mark of 74 (races off 69 today) in 2016. Veteran who needs to be revitalised for first run of the campaign at Newcastle last month.
Forecasts
Grand Enterprise (5/1), Lake Shore Drive (6/1), County Road (6/1), Improved (6/1), Phare Isle (9/1), Overtoujay (9/1), Next Lot (10/1), Bored Or Bad (11/1), Mahler Bay (20/1), Blue Cove (22/1), Lucky Thirteen (25/1), Tennessee Bird (25/1)
A truly desperate contest for a track such as Doncaster, but there has to be a winner, although picking which of these twelve this winner will be is no easy task. Phare Isle is falling in the weights but with good reason, whilst fellow twelve-year-old Blue Cove was runner up in this in 2016. Lake Shore Drive could improve for the switch to this yard at this trip, but a real-flier is taken on the eye catching jockey booking of Richard Johnson on handicap debutant COUNTY ROAD.
1. County Road
2. Lake Shore Drive
3. Improved
