Shown some useful form on the AW and won well last time out overcoming a less than ideal run of the race. Will be interesting here if taking this up as she was engaged at Wolverhampton on Friday evening.
Has been around the block of late but shows that he retains ability - won two claimers at Chelmsford in October and November. Good effort back in handicaps at Newcastle on his last run when 50/1, finishing fifth.
Beaten favourite at Southwell earlier in the week when slowly away. Has won over this C&D but bit more to do back on this surface and in a handicap.
Four-time winner on the AW and a winner at Newcastle in November. Creditable run last time out in a better class race and will appreciate the drop in grade here.
Limited attempts on the AW (one win) and not seen since running a modest race at Nottingham in October. Back to his last winning mark here and would be of interest if ready to go off a break.
Fair while since he's won although he tends to run some sound races. Certainly made a step in the right direction when third to Coillte Cailin in late December on his last start after a break and starting to look like he's on a good mark now.
Useful handicapper who was in good form last year and won his last two races over C&D off marks of 77 and 80. Now up a further 4lb but a very strong traveller who looks as though he could continue to give a good account.
Some respectable efforts to his name but would need to improve on recent efforts to take a hand here.
Forecasts
Van Huysen (5/2), Coillte Cailin (3/1), Marshgate Lane (7/2), Arrowzone (6/1), Mica Mika (10/1), Passing Star (10/1), Fort Bastion (16/1), Ready (28/1)
Coillte Cailin will be of interest if she runs again here (engaged at Wolverhampton on Friday evening) but VAN HUYSEN comes here at the top of his game. Although he’s 4lb higher here he looks to have won with a bit in hand and this C&D clearly suit him. Fort Bastion has only been winning in claimers but his run last time out showed that he could still cut it in handicaps. Mika Mika is a consistent sort who deserves to win a race like this and off what looks to be a good mark can make his presence felt.
1. Van Huysen
2. Mica Mika
3. Fort Bastion
