Made all over five furlongs to get off the mark at the eighth attempt recently on his first start on tapeta (at Wolverhampton). Similar tactics will be more difficult to employ at this stiffer track, and over this longer trip, but finished a half length second over seven furlongs at Haydock in October, so clearly a versatile sort.
This race was nominated by his trainer as a likely next target after finishing second in a similar contest at Lingfield earlier this month. Keen on that occasion, this 110,000 Gns yearling holds White Royale (fourth) on that evidence, and due a further 2lb rise in the weights.
Made all, and stayed on strongly to take a C&D Novice event on just her second start back in June. Not quite reached that level of form in three starts since October (including here over 5f), and held by Zamjar on recent Wolverhampton showing, but likely to be suited by a return to this trip on this track.
Improved for her racecourse debut at Chelmsford when stepping up to seven furlongs at this course last month. Successful on that occasion by the narrowest of margins, having shown clear signs of greeness late in the race. Drops back in trip and up in Grade (from Class 6), but with further improvement highly likely.
Still a maiden after seven starts, and most likely the stable's second string in this race. However, arguably produced a career best (dropped to a mark of 58) when fourth of 15 over seven furongs at Chelmsford three weeks back, and receives plenty of weight from his rivals.
Forecasts
Juan Horsepower (11/4), White Royale (3/1), Killermont Street (16/5), Zamjar (10/3), Metronomic (6/1)
A small field, but a competitive affair with some largely in-form horses lining up. Juan Horsepower will not find forcing tactics as easy to employ at this track, especially with KILLERMOUNT STREET to contend with. The Mark Johnston trained filly gave the impression that she had plenty more improvement in the locker when scoring here over seven furlongs last month, and is taken to get the better of Zamjar despite dropping back in trip.
1. Killermont Street
2. Zamjar
3. White Royale
