Chris Dobey and Joe Cullen are among the quartet of players in PDC Home Tour action tonight. Check out our preview, stats and betting tips.
Sky Bet odds to top group: Chris Dobey 11/10, Joe Cullen 7/4, Jeff Smith 11/2, Martijn Kleermaker 11/2
Undoubtedly one of the hardest second stage groups to call, with strong cases to be made for all four hopefuls including the two 'outsiders' Jeff Smith and Martijn Kleermaker.
Chris Dobey would probably have headed into the night as a clearer favourite had Joe Cullen not produced three stunning performances in the penultimate group of the previous round as he emphatically made the most of his second chance having previously been a runner-up.
The Rockstar averaged over 105 in all of his three games and even reached as high as 107.6 in a thrilling 5-3 victory over Gerwyn Price, who recorded a mark of 103.3 himself, and that's one of the major reason I put him in my outright staking plan at 28/1.
Cullen may not have fired on similar cylinders in his first outing but it was really only losing a last-leg decider against the Jermaine Wattimena that cost him dear as Ryan Murray pipped the group. It has proved to be a blessing in disguise for the Yorkshire man as it gave him more time to practice his online darts game and subsequently show the world what he can do, while boosting his own confidence in the process.
He's often spoken about not previously fulfilling his rich potential but that was more clear evidence of what he's capable of should he maintain this momentum.
Dobey is actually ranked four places below Cullen at 20 on the Order of Merit and is yet to win a PDC title but I doubt you'll find many darts fans who rate the Northumberland star lower in terms of talent and current 'real' form given his stage breakthroughs over the past year and a half especially.
However, if each plays to their best then we'll be in for quite some showdown and Cullen may just have the edge in this format.
As for Smith and Kleermaker, I wasn't surprised to see them upset the odds to get here having backed them to win their respective groups.
The Silencer did so in dramatic fashion by taking out a 147 checkout to beat Ricky Evans 5-4 in the final match of the night while 9/2 fancy Kleermaker stunned Michael Smith before sealing top spot with victory over Harry Ward.
Neither can be underestimated and I think they'll be some surprise results to prevent anyone taking maximum points.
My 'doubles' have come in on each of the last two nights at 5/1 and 3/1 so I'll go for three in a row with a 9/2 shout - although you could turn that into an eye-catching 10.55 if you throw in Cullen to beat Dobey.
