Four-time defending champion Michael van Gerwen headed a 32-player field at the 11th staging of this major and was hot favourite to win it for the fifth time in a row - but sensationally crashed out to Steve West.

In the end it was James Wade who won his first major TV title since 2014 as he defeated Simon Whitlock in the final.
