Judd Trump is through to the quarter-finals of the Coral World Grand Prix in Cheltenham after beating Tom Ford.
Trump, fresh from winning his first Masters title last month, secured a 4-2 win against his English compatriot.
Trump, who sealed the last-16 win with a century break, will face either Mark Selby or Thailand's Noppon Saengkham in the last eight.
World number one Selby saw off Murphy 4-1 earlier on Wednesday, while Saengkham was a surprise 4-2 winner against John Higgins.
Elsewhere, England's Kyren Wilson came from 3-0 down to win his first-round clash 4-3 against Welshman Matthew Stevens.
The world number eight will play Stuart Bingham for a place in the quarter-finals.
