Verdict

Though his recent form figures make for grim reading at first glance, PISTOLETTO has been contesting stronger races than this for the most part and he is worth chancing. Protected Guest has his quirks, but he's been holding his form admirably well in recent months and a 1 lb rise for his latest success at Southwell last month is hardly prohibitive. The 7-y-o is second choice ahead of Barn Owl.
