Verdict

DESERT EMPIRE won on debut at Lingfield despite not getting the best run round having missed the break and being stuck wide throughout. He should progress from that and his penalty might not be enough to stop him. Headingley shaped very well on debut at Ayr last month and he won't be far away. Mr Marvlos is an interesting newcomer for a trainer who has made a good start to his career.
