An above-standard renewal of this handicap chase, KALASHNIKOV sets the form standard given his Grade 1 win in the Manifesto Novices' Chase last season and wasn't suited to the lack of jumping test at Aintree (fences omitted due to low sun) last time. With a jumping test in this his class should tell despite shouldering a lofty weight. Glen Forsa could be his nearest rival on his peak form but a bounce back is seemingly needed now, while the likes of Gala Ball and Azzerti can't be discounted on previous C&D distance form.
