Verdict

Any money for King's Song, a winner over this sort of trip at Southwell in June, would be notable on his first outing for Gordon Elliott, who is such a master at rekindling the fire in just such a type. The mare Dorkas won over this sort of trip at Sligo in August and filled the runner-up berth there last time, she remains in decent heart as such and isn't ruled out while the returning Simple Steps could mount a bid if ready to roll. BLACK SCORPION ought to be much more suited now return to this kind of stamina test and, with just three chase starts in his locker (including a win over 3m on debut at Cork) has scope to offer more. His effort last time at Tipperary over a trip much shorter than ideal was very encouraging and he can pick up this prize.
  1. Black Scorpion
  2. Dorkas
  3. King's Song
