Magic City was not disgraced at Goodwood in a stronger race than this. That effort was all the more respectable given the stable have been finding things difficult over the last few months with winners not flowing as regularly as they were earlier in the year. He has conditions to suit and a good mark so enters calculations. Waarif is one to note in pre-race trading on his debut for a shrewd yard that do well with horses making their debuts for them. In an open contest we rate GERRY THE GLOVER a good each-way pick given his lowly weight and a preference for the forecast conditions. Trainer Brian Ellison has done well with previous runners in this and the five-year-old is taken to end a two year drought.
