C&D winner who rattled off a quick-fire hat-trick in May and ran creditably when twice making the frame at up to 13f in September. Shaped like step up to 2m stretched him back here 23 days ago and return to shorter can see him get back on track.
Landed an Ascot novice (6f) on second start as a juvenile but failed to progress thereafter for Hugo Palmer, including in handicaps first half of this year. Modest form in a trio of juvenile hurdles for new stable but he takes a marked drop in class ahead of this return to the Flat. Up in trip.

Readily got off the mark at the 22nd attempt in 10-runner handicap at Hamilton (1½m, soft) in September. Excuses on account of quick turnaround when last of 5 at Ayr (13f) 4 weeks ago and since switched yards (11,000 gns) ahead of this. Bounce back not ruled out.
Dual scorer at up to this trip upon joining present stable last season. Rather in-and-out in 2026 but best effort for a while when third at Ayr in August and in better heart than recent form figures would imply, tactics/ground catching her out at Ayr latest. Better anticipated from career-low mark.
Scored 3 times in the first half of 2026, including over C&D. Has continued to run well since, just lacking change of pace of first 2 when third of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (1¼m) 33 days ago. Can be competitive again back over this longer trip.
Sole win this year came over further at Southwell in April. Made the frame a couple of times at up to this trip in September but hasn't been competitive on each of his last 2 starts. Has fallen 3 lb below last winning mark if refitting of blinkers has desired effect.
Fair maiden in Ireland for John Joseph Murphy. Yet to offer much for current yard, staying on from 3f out without threatening when sixth at Redcar (1¼m, heavy) 9 days ago. Up in trip now with work to do.
Golden Horn gelding who found progress when defying a basement mark on handicap debut at Newcastle (12.5f) in September. Not disgraced on back of a 5 lb rise when fourth at Southwell (1¾m) 29 days ago and he may yet have more to offer if learning to settle better.
Sole win came at Newcastle (1¼m) last summer. Has made the frame on several occasions this year but failed to stay 2m here 23 days ago. This trip is more suitable.
Low-mileage filly. Hit the frame in 3-y-o handicaps at Thirsk/Catterick in May and back to that sort of form without fully convincing at the trip when sixth at latter venue (1¾m) 18 days ago. Return to shorter in her favour here and each-way claims.

Forecasts
Gemini Man (9/4), West Sleekburn Lad (9/2), Alpine Sierra (5/1), Off Spin (8/1), Hickton (10/1), Falaise Blanc (12/1), Eagles Dream (12/1), Gemical (14/1), Idyllic (14/1), Watcha Snoop (16/1)
This looks wide open, and with that in mind a chance is taken on IDYLLIC who has been in better heart than recent form figures would suggest and she's lurking on a handy mark if putting it all together. Gemini Man is proving consistent and merits respect along with top weight Alpine Sierra. West Sleekburn Lad completes the shortlist.
