AW Trials Day - Lingfield 2nd Jan 2027 Handicap (GBBPlus Race)

C&D winner. Well suited by the increased emphasis on stamina when bolting up over hurdles at Stratford (2¾m) in July but struggled next 2 starts back on the Flat. Step back in right direction from reduced mark when third of 7 at Wolverhampton (1¾m, 18/1) 13 days ago. Expected to be bang there.

Course winner who's been a long way below his best for present yard this year. The cheekpieces go back on but he needs to show some of his old spark before he's of any interest again.

Successful 3 times over hurdles for this yard, most recently in December. First Flat start since 2024 (tongue tied) when second at Lingfield before winning 9-runner handicap at Kempton (2m, 17/2) 19 days ago. More required again from a 5lb higher mark.

Landed a third success of the season at Carlisle in July and quickly back on track with placed finishes on last 3 starts, latest when 1¼ lengths second of 5 to Sax Appeal at Ripon in September. May be in the handicapper's grip but can give another good account.

Rejuvenated by switch to visor when landing back-to-back wins at Chester and York in July but failed to land a blow since. Takes a marked drop in grade with the visor quickly refitted.

Gained a second career success at this course on return in March and was then runner-up 3 times after. However, has only beaten 2 rivals on last 3 starts and can be overlooked.
