Nick And Valda Embiricos Memorial Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Off time: 16:00 | Winning time: 5m 0.37s

Tapley^t²⁷

Age: 9| Weight: 11-13| J: Caoilin Quinn| T: G & J Moore| OR: 123| C| D

5/2

Good strike rate for Suzy Smith and made perfect start to life with new yard when landing 4-runner contest at Fontwell 4 weeks ago, responding well. 3 lb rise won't prevent a bold follow-up bid from this uncomplicated sort.

Palamon^p,t⁶^{(ex 7)}

Age: 6| Weight: 11-11| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR: 114| BF| D

2/1

May not be totally straightforward but suddenly right back to his best when an easy winner at Southwell 6 days ago, cruising clear. Will take plenty of stopping under a penalty if he's in the same mood.

Form: 3-55351

Nickelforce²³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-6| J: J M Quinlan| T: B I Case| OR: 116| BF| C| D

9/2

Reliable chaser despite again promising more than he delivered when 5½-length fifth in the Summer Plate at Market Rasen in July. Didn't jump with same fluency back there 3 weeks ago but it was another creditable effort and slight drop in trip will help.

Form: 4-31253

A Little Something¹⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 11-3| J: C J Todd| T: Miss E C Lavelle| OR: 113

10/1

Third win of an already productive campaign in another small-field affair at Fontwell 16 days ago. Quite a bit went her way on that occasion so 8 lb rise could be enough to anchor her.

Form: 11UFP1

Jorebel¹⁸⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 11-2| J: Freddie Gordon| T: C Gordon| OR: 112| C| D

7/2

Had a superb time of things to end 2025, gaining fifth win in a 17f handicap here in December (off 1 lb lower). Ended the season in tame fashion but very capable fresh and he's in very good hands.

Forecasts

Palamon (2/1), Tapley (5/2), Jorebel (7/2), Nickelforce (9/2), A Little Something (10/1)

The race PALAMON won at Southwell last week rather fell apart but he could do no more than win very easily and he looks up to defying a penalty. There may well be more to come from Tapley for his new yard so he can offer most resistance.
