Third to Storming Home in a solid handicap at Aintree (2½m) before off the mark for current yard in well-run Cartmel handicap in May. Back on song when beaten 4 lengths into fourth at the latter track (17f) at the end of August but needs to shrug off a lesser run at Perth since.

Completed a quick-fire hat-trick over hurdles in February. Back on form with runner-up efforts over fences the last twice but has a much higher mark to cope with back hurdling.

Comes here on a hat-trick after handicap wins at Uttoxeter (2½m, good) and Fontwell (2¼m, good to firm) for new trainer Des Donovan last month. Only another 2 lb higher and his useful Flat form earlier in his career suggests he may not have reached his limit over timber.

Well held on the Flat on first 2 outings for this yard but took a big step back in the right direction returned to hurdles when close second of 7 over 21f at Kelso 10 days ago. Unexposed over this trip over hurdles and obvious chance off the same mark.

Bumper/maiden hurdle winner who beat a couple of subsequent winners to score on handicap debut at Stratford (2¾m) in August. Good head second of 6 in handicap at Hexham (23f, good) on Saturday. Should go well if coping with the quick turnaround.

Forecasts

Virtual Rock (6/4), Rebel Tribesman (2/1), Evaluation (9/2), My Chiquita (5/1), Thank You Blue (18/1)

Verdict

EVALUATION turns out off the same mark as when a close second at Kelso recently and is taken to go one place better and deny Virtual Rock the hat-trick. Rebel Tribesman should also be on the premises turned out again quickly after his near miss at Hexham over the weekend.
