Lightly-raced 3-y-o. Gelded prior to chasing home a useful one in a very valuable Doncaster novice in July. Disappointing third in first-time cheekpieces at Hamilton (11f) subsequently. Opening mark certainly a fair one if putting his best foot forward, though, with the longer trip likely to suit.

Had shown little in 2 starts following a long absence prior to a surprise success in a 6-runner handicap at Epsom (1½m, 22/1) latest. Still looks well-in on paper (only 3 lb higher), however, his latest form may not prove the most robust.

Hasn't won since going 2-2 as a juvenile. Best effort for present yard when chasing home a useful one at Thirsk in August. Again in a higher grade than necessary when not seen to best effect (beaten 6¾ lengths) at Ayr (13f, soft) last time. Ought to be more competitive with sights lowered.
Completed a double similar company at Newmarket in July. Looked ready for this step up in trip (and return to more positive tactics) when 6 lengths second at Windsor (11.5f) last time. Booking of Jason Hart a plus, too (4 wins from 10 in handicaps for stable here).
Suited by a truly-run race when recording a career-best success in a 6-runner handicap at Musselburgh (13f) in August. Seemed a touch rusty when 7¾-length fifth of 12 on contrasting ground at Hamilton (1½m, soft) following 7 weeks off last time. May not get his ideal pace scenario here.
Heavy-ground Ayr novice winner who is less exposed than most in here. Suited by step up in trip/first-time cheekpieces when nearly doubling his tally at Hamilton (1½m, soft) 12 days ago. Steps up further in distance now and he may well make amends.
Fair form in maidens up to 1½m for Lorna Fowler last autumn. Looked rusty when beaten 7 lengths in first-time tongue strap on reappearance/handicap debut at Newcastle (12.5f). Something to find at the weights on second start for current yard/following breathing operation.
Hasn't been seen to best effect either start in turf handicaps. Going the right way on all-weather more recently, winning at Southwell (1¾m) before bumping into progressive ones at Wolverhampton/Kempton. Potentially interesting if translating his form to this surface.
Typical Sir Mark Prescott type who improved for switch to handicaps/longer trips. Off the mark at Southwell in late-August and again looked all about stamina when close third in first-time cheekpieces at Lingfield (1½m). Unexposed over even further on turf debut and appeals as a likely type here.

Forecasts
Parisian Scholar (11/4), Northern Brave (4/1), Pace Attack (6/1), Flash Kozo (7/1), Golden West (7/1), According To Mark (15/2), Sure And Stedfast (8/1), Duc De Kent (12/1), Dior Noir (150/1)
It could pay to concentrate on the unexposed 3-y-o stayers, with NORTHERN BRAVE marginally preferred to turf debutant Pace Attack, following an improved showing in headgear at Hamilton last time. According To Mark looks on a handy opening mark but has hinted at temperament.
