Beaten only around 4 lengths when tenth of 21 in the Coventry at Royal Ascot in June. Has twice failed to reproduce it since though, just third of 5 in novice at Lingfield (7f, all-weather) 4 weeks ago. Still needs considering here.

Sent off 28/1 but made a promising start amidst greenness when sixth of 11 in valuable maiden at Ascot (7f, good) 27 days ago. This Sea The Moon colt cost €280,000 at the breeze-ups and seems sure to improve. Big shout.

Forecasts

Kamaal (11/4), Moon Rock (3/1), Showmaster (4/1), Vulcanist (9/2), Strike Force Max (5/1), High Summer (11/1), Close Circle (40/1), Sky Mountain (40/1), Mr Badger (50/1), Chain Letter (80/1), My Spritely (500/1), Vera Lemon (500/1)

Verdict

MOON ROCK was in need of the initial experience when a promising sixth in a valuable Ascot maiden and Ed Walker's Sea The Moon colt looks the way to go with improvement very much on the cards. Newcomers Showmaster and Vulcanist are in excellent hands and appeal on pedigree too so rate threats, especially if the market vibes are positive. Kamaal is another who can play a prominent role if rediscovering his best form.
