Betfred 'The Classic Bookmaker' Handicap

Mohaather gelding. Won twice over 6f in useful juvenile season. Hasn't gone on from his near miss in this grade at Goodwood in June. First-time cheekpieces could help remedy recent slow starts. Step up in trip/booking of Oisin Murphy potential catalysts for improvement, too.

Successful in change of headgear over C&D prior to improving/following up in more fluent fashion at Sandown later in July. Clearly didn't give his running when bidding for a hat-trick at Ripon (possibly amiss) since. Leading claims if back on song.

Dual all-weather winner who ran up to his best well-backed second at Sandown on penultimate start. Testing conditions possibly a factor in his subsequent below-par effort at Haydock. No excuses on that front here and cheekpieces will need to spark improvement if he's to open his turf account.

Strong-travelling/ground-versatile 3-y-o. Successful on 3 of his last 4 starts, forging clear to win on first start in open company at Chepstow (1m, soft) last time. Faces better opposition here, however, a 7-lb rise may not prove beyond him given his upwardly mobile profile.

Consistent sort who gained a deserved first win for his current yard in a Class 5 handicap at Sandown (1m). Form of his subsequent 3½-length third at Windsor has taken a few knocks. May fall short in a better race here, even if allowed the run of the race.

Landed the odds in a solid 6f Leicester maiden (soft) on final juvenile outing. Best effort since when second to an improving filly at Nottingham (1¼m) prior to disappointing back down in trip at Haydock latest. Still well treated and may capitalise if ridden more aggressively from stall 1 here.

Fair maiden for George Boughey. Built on first run for current connections when fairly useful winner over C&D handicap latest. She did have a good pitch in a messy race on that occasion, though, and needs more again up in class/back against her elders.

Typically ridden patiently when doubling his tally for the year at this course (7f) last month. Still in good heart when 5½ lengths third over C&D last time. Probably needs a strong pace to hold his own back up in grade (races from 1 lb out of the handicap).
