Road To Wembley^t³⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 12-0| J: S Bowen| T: O Murphy| OR: 124| CD

9/4

Fairly useful staying handicapper on the Flat who has made a positive start over hurdles for new connections, winning 3 of his 4 starts, most recently a 10-runner novice over C&D (good) 37 days ago by ¾ length from Square D'alboni. Switched to handicapping now, he remains open to improvement.

Form: 21-11

Trouville³³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-10| J: Mr T Walsh⁽⁷⁾| T: O Murphy| OR: 120| C

8/1

Fairly useful stayer on Flat who built on a considerate hurdling debut when readily landing a course maiden in July and upped his game further when good second of 8 in handicap hurdle over C&D (good) 33 days ago. Sean Bowen prefers Road To Wembley but he warrants respect.

Form: 3142

Regarde^b,t⁷⁷

Age: 9| Weight: 11-7| J: G Sheehan| T: Jamie Snowden| OR: 117| CD

22/1

Fairly useful winner at 28f in chases who made the most of a good opportunity in this sphere when landing 8-runner novice over C&D (good to firm, 3/1) 77 days ago by ¾ length from Yellow Card. More needed in this deeper contest, however.

Form: 352-2P1

Whinney Hill³³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Lee Edwards| T: Dave Roberts| OR: 117

100/1

Made strong debut third in maiden hurdle for Gordon Elliott in 2024 but gone the wrong way since, again cutting out quickly at Navan in February on final start for yard. Well held behind Down To Business at this course on debut for new stable 33 days ago and looks up against it on handicap bow here.

Form: 9P/4PP-5

Square D'alboni³⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 11-6| J: Harry Atkins⁽⁵⁾| T: D Skelton| OR: 119| C

11/1

Useful 3-time winner on Flat for Ralph Beckett who has progressed over hurdles this term, winning twice before good ¾-length second of 10 to Road To Wembley in novice hurdle over C&D (good) 37 days ago, clear of rest. Harry Skelton prefers Down To Business, however.

Form: 37-112

Lock Stock¹⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: Charlie Hammond| T: S Edmunds| OR: 116| C

11/2

Found improvement in this sphere when making winning debut for new yard in 12-runner novice hurdle at this course (2m, good to soft) 15 days ago, shaken up to assert. More on plate here but this longer trip could unlock further improvement on switch to handicapping.

Form: 20/229-1

Miss Kingston¹¹¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-6| J: C Gethings| T: A Ralph| OR: 116

18/1

Improved appreciably on her Irish form for P. F. McEnery when dominant winner of 12-runner maiden (3/1) at Chepstow (2m) in April and ran to similar level when creditable second of 8 in novice hurdle (10/3) at this course (2m, good to soft) in June. May well do better now sent handicapping.

Form: 43741-2

Down To Business³³

Age: 4| Weight: 11-1| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR: 114| C

5/1

Fair on Flat in Ireland, he opened his account at the fourth attempt over hurdles for Dan Skelton in 11-runner novice hurdle at this course (2m, good) 33 days ago, quickening clear. The handicapper hasn't taken any chances with his mark but he must be taken seriously here.

Form: 345-1

Who's Glen^p¹⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Theo Gillard| T: D McCain Jnr| OR: 110| D

28/1

Useful handicapper on Flat for Andrew Balding and placed on 4 of his 5 starts over hurdles for this yard last season. Back from 3 months off when opening account in this sphere at Bangor (2½m, good) 17 days ago and remains feasibly treated. Respected.

Form: 3732-41

Oneinthewell^p¹³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: J J Burke| T: James Owen| OR: 110

16/1

Irish bumper winner on debut for Thomas Cooper. Took a while to double his tally for current connections but gained reward for a string of consistent efforts in handicap company at Market Rasen in July. Not disgraced in C&D novice since but lacks potential of some of his rivals here.

Form: 33-2214

Katarcice^t¹¹⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Jack Hogan| T: F O'Brien| OR: 108| BF

40/1

Shaped encouragingly when placed sole start in bumpers and made the frame all 3 starts over hurdles, latest when third of 5 in novice at Southwell (2½m, good) in June. Makes his handicap bow in a deep contest but he remains low mileage.

Form: 22/32-23

Likewhatyousee³⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 10-9| J: Jonjo O'Neill Jr.| T: J & A O'Neill| OR: 108

20/1

Progressive middle-distance winner on Flat for C. W. J. Farrell who confirmed the promise of hurdling debut for new yard when landing maiden at Newton Abbot this summer. Not really built on that, however, well held behind Road To Wembley here latest. Improvement required on switch to handicapping.

Form: 2126

Media Mogul⁶⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 10-9| J: David Bass| T: Tom Dascombe| OR: 105| BF| C

14/1

Winner on the Flat for Ed Walker but rather temperamental. Headgear off and left previous 2 efforts over hurdles behind when scoring at this course (2m) in June. However, rather let down by jumping here on handicap debut latest and this longer trip is an unknown.

Form: 44-13

So Proud^p1¹⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 10-8| J: R P McLernon| T: J & A O'Neill| OR: 104

20/1

Well supported when making a winning start in a Haydock bumper for Don Cantillon in May 2025 and posted best effort over hurdles when good second of 5 in handicap over shorter trip at Fontwell 19 days ago. This is more competitive but he hails from a yard in fine form. Cheekpieces on first time.

Form: 15-432

Devon Red^b1⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 10-2| J: Harry Reed| T: Nick Scholfield| OR: 87

14/1

Lightly-raced maiden who was much improved, in first-time cheekpieces, when excellent second of 7 in novice hurdle at Newton Abbot (2¾m, good) 7 days ago. Must enter calculations despite finding himself 11 lb out of the handicap here. Blinkers on first time.

Form: 09/4242

Forecasts

Road To Wembley (9/4), Down To Business (5/1), Lock Stock (11/2), Trouville (8/1), Square D'alboni (11/1), Yellow Card (12/1), Media Mogul (14/1), Devon Red (14/1), Oneinthewell (16/1), Miss Kingston (18/1), So Proud (20/1), Likewhatyousee (20/1), Regarde (22/1), Who's Glen (28/1), Katarcice (40/1), Whinney Hill (100/1)

Preference is for ROAD TO WEMBLEY, who overcame a troubled passage when scoring here last month and appeals as the type to progress further in handicap company. Course winner Down To Business has likely been aimed at this contest by his shrewd handler and is feared most, whilst Devon Red and Lock Stock are also of interest in what looks a competitive heat.
