Off time: 16:18 | Winning time: 5m 9.80s

Carrigg Island^h³⁴¹

Age: 6| Weight: 12-0| J: Thomas O'Connor⁽⁷⁾| T: E McCarthy| OR: 122

11/2

Showed fairly useful form over hurdles last season, winning maiden at Limerick on debut and then later finishing third of 6 to Shadow Paddy in listed novice there on final outing. Makes handicap debut after 11 months off, but yard tend to target this meeting and well worth a market check.

Form: 1/52553-

Slurricane^p³¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: Shane O'Callaghan⁽³⁾| T: R O'Sullivan| OR: 120

28/1

Proving far more miss than hit at present, fourteenth of 20 in handicap at Galway (17f, good to soft) on return and then last of 7 in maiden chase at Ballinrobe last time. On a good mark on pick of his efforts but needs to bounce back now reverting to hurdles with cheekpieces back on.

Form: 7309-07

No Looking Back^b,t⁵⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 11-11| J: Phillip Enright| T: O McKiernan| OR: 119

12/1

One-time useful hurdler who ran one of his better recent races despite not being seen to best effect when 8 lengths seventh of 20 to Fiveonefive at Galway last month. Back up in trip here.

Form: P0430-7

Ehteyat^b¹³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-10| J: Tom Kelly⁽⁷⁾| T: M K Flannery| OR: 118| C

28/1

Placed 3 times in maiden hurdles last season but bled at Down Royal in May and hasn't shown much either on the Flat or in this sphere since. Blinkers on for first time over hurdles.

Form: 3230-P0

Lisnagar Fortune⁸²

Age: 8| Weight: 11-8| J: Josh Williamson⁽³⁾| T: J C McConnell| OR: 116

50/1

One-time fairly useful hurdler/chaser for Willie Mullins who has made no impact in 3 outings for current connections.

Form: 63/87-8P

First Ascent^p,t²¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-6| J: James Smith⁽⁵⁾| T: G Elliott| OR: 114

11/1

Continued a theme of run-to-run progression in maiden hurdles when winning 11-runner event at Kilbeggan by 14 lengths from Blue Johnl. Open to improvement now tackling a handicap, with the step up in trip expected to suit. One to consider.

Form: P-54231

Reiki Revolution^h,t⁵³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: Keith Donoghue| T: G P Cromwell| OR: 114| D

15/2

Made a winning start for Gavin Cromwell in 2½m Punchestown maiden last October. Hasn't convinced as a chaser this season and hardly shaped with much encouragement back over hurdles last time.

Form: P4-UU49

Killowen House⁴⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-5| J: Danny Gilligan| T: P J Gilligan| OR: 113

10/1

Successful on fifth attempt in points. Seems to be getting the hang of things over hurdles, too, producing his best effort when ½-length second of 7 to Down Around at Ballinrobe last time. The drop back in trip on this sharp track is a concern, however.

Form: 1-37342

Chutzpal^b³⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 11-3| J: Darragh O'Keeffe| T: H De Bromhead| OR: 111

7/1

Completed a cross-code hat-trick over the summer, the last 2 wins coming in handicap hurdles. Has been given a chance by the assessor but little encouragement to be gleaned from recent starts on the Flat.

Form: 681130/

Boston Rajj¹¹⁶

Age: 8| Weight: 11-2| J: Gearoid Brouder⁽⁵⁾| T: Ian O'Connor| OR: 110

66/1

Handicap hurdle winner at Sligo last summer. Showed aptitude when only mid-division in maiden chase at Kilbeggan last time, should be up to speed now and reverts to hurdling off handy mark for new yard.

Form: 35345-7

Moylussa^p³⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 11-2| J: Donagh Meyler| T: M Magnussen| OR: 110

9/2

Only has one win over hurdles but ran up to his very best when 4½ lengths second of 10 to Autumn Twist at Killarney in August. Further progress needed to defy current mark, though.

Form: 647-332

Cozone^b,t²⁰

Age: 9| Weight: 11-1| J: Sam Ewing| T: M J Smith| OR: 109| CD

16/1

Took advantage of a much-reduced mark in a 14-runner event at Downpatrick in March and again won there in June. Shaped as if needing the outing last time and likely needs to improve if he's to defy a revised rating.

Form: 8/16-315

Mart Lane^t¹⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Mr F Maguire| T: B Connell| OR: 108

5/2

Resumed progress when ½-length second of 20 to Inthenickoftime in handicap at Galway 17 days ago. Remains of interest from 4 lb higher mark.

Form: 9524-82

Pakens Rock³⁵⁴

Age: 13| Weight: 11-0| J: Niall Moore⁽⁵⁾| T: D Duggan| OR: 108| D

66/1

Won over hurdles at Kilbeggan in April 2025 but has largely struggled over fences since, including on debut for current yard last October. Absent since and well into the veteran stage.

Form: 61/3774-

Hello Jack^t1¹⁶⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 10-13| J: Danny Mullins| T: E McNamara| OR: 107| BF

22/1

Placed in a trio of maiden hurdles and similar form over fences when third of 14 on handicap debut at Fairyhouse in January. Disappointing both starts since and now reverts to hurdling on back of 6-month break and in first-time tongue strap.

Forecasts

Mart Lane (5/2), Moylussa (9/2), Carrigg Island (11/2), In For The Night (11/2), Chutzpal (7/1), Reiki Revolution (15/2), Ripsnorter (15/2), Killowen House (10/1), First Ascent (11/1), Tiger Twins (12/1), No Looking Back (12/1), Cozone (16/1), Hello Jack (22/1), Kevin's Pride (25/1), Slurricane (28/1), Ehteyat (28/1), Mags Nelson (33/1), Lisnagar Fortune (50/1), Aurea Fortuna (50/1), Boston Rajj (66/1), Pakens Rock (66/1)

MART LANE is progressing in handicaps and went close at Galway 17 days ago despite a mistake 2 out, so is taken to go one better. Boston Rajj should strip fitter for the recent run and looks well treated on debut for new connections, while First Ascent is open to improvement and rates best of the rest. Killowen House can also be involved if handling this sharp track.
