Useful form when bagging his first 3 starts over hurdles around 2m, including a Haydock Grade 2. Pulled up final 2 runs that season but fit from the Flat and this former point winner is the type to make a better chaser. Handicap debut.

Has made a fine start over fences, registering a fourth success when seeing off 5 rivals over 19f at Stratford 3 weeks ago. Even a further 5 lb rise may not stop him.

Fairly useful hurdler. Yet to fully convince as a chaser but did go with more zest until finding 23f too much of a test at Stratford 19 days ago. Quickly back in distance and he can make his presence felt.

Won a pair of small-field novice hurdles in November. Struggled in handicaps for Dan Skelton after but took a step back in the right direction for new yard when second at Uttoxeter in June. Stiff task from out the weights at Stratford later that month (went off too hard) and absent since.

Forecasts

Captain Cool (10/11), Krak (5/2), Roadlesstravelled (7/2), Ice In The Veins (14/1)

Verdict

CAPTAIN COOL has already had a fine season and having been found another small-field scenario, he may well shrug off a 5 lb rise. Krak should be a factor tackling a more suitable distance, while Roadlesstravelled certainly has the profile of one who will make a better chaser.
