Yet to score since making a winning start at York last May but he's been keeping good company and again emerged with credit when fifth of 22 in handicap (10/1) at York (6f, good to firm) 83 days ago. Shortlisted now dropped in grade.

Dual all-weather winner in November who found a drop in trip/change of tactics liberating when scoring from the front at Yarmouth (7f) in June (final outing for Jane Chapple-Hyam). Doubled his tally for the year in 8-runner event at Thirsk 3 weeks ago and can go well again after a 10 lb rise.
Showed improved form to spring a 40/1 surprise in 7f Wolverhampton novice on reappearance (beating now-useful sort). Back on the up having been gelded when a staying-on third of 17 in handicap at this C&D (firm) 55 days ago and remains of interest here.
Strong-travelling front runner. Dominated from a good draw when much-improved winner at Cork (1m, good) in June and before a good ½-length second of 11 at York the following month. Resumed winning ways in a 9-runner handicap at Gowran 6 weeks ago and a 5 lb rise looks fair again.
Starman filly who left debut form well behind when springing a 125/1 surprise over 7f at the same venue in July. Had a bit up her sleeve when following up in a 9-runner novice at Newcastle (7f) 15 days ago and now switches to handicap company with 7-lb claimer retaining ride.
Second in 6f listed race at Redcar last October. Beaten at short odds in Lingfield maiden on return but made no mistake in a similar race at Salisbury in May. Respectable effort in a red-hot handicap at York (6f) next time but was always behind back at Salisbury 3 weeks ago. Marquand now booked.
Benefited from the return to 7f when fifth of 14 on her Newbury return, finishing to good effect. Failed to build on that promise in 3 starts since, very much looking as if need of the step back up in trip when last of 11 in handicap at this course (6f, firm, 16/1) 56 days ago. Down another 2 lb.
Got off the mark in 7f Sandown nursery in August and backed it up with a solid third in similar company at Doncaster (7f) after. Matched the pick of his juvenile form back from 8 months when sixth of 10 in handicap at Newbury (1m, good to soft) 85 days ago but probably needs mark to ease further.

Luansobe (7/2), Raging Raj (4/1), Hambelton (4/1), First Legion (5/1), You Sexy Thing (15/2), Golden Brown (8/1), Sapphire Steps (10/1), King Of Thunder (10/1), Star Of Commala (16/1)
FIRST LEGION has been running respectably in stronger races than this and can capitalise on the drop in grade back at 7f, with Raging Raj, who has continued in good form after a stable switch, and the front-running Irish raider Hambelton also strongly considered.

- Raging Raj4/1
