Lurking on a dangerous mark following a 2-year losing streak. Paid the price for an overly aggressive ride when 5½ lengths fourth of 8 at Windsor (11.4f). More measured tactics could see him do better here.
Low-mileage 3-y-o. Doesn't do anything quickly but arrives on the back of creditable thirds at Sandown/Chepstow, finishing 3½ lengths behind a subsequent winner last time. Should be in the hunt for the places, especially if they go a good gallop (couple of front runners in the field).
Consistent sort who is often ridden prominently. Gained a deserved second success of the season when scoring by short head at Nottingham (9f) last month. Improved for return to this trip when 1-length second under a 6-lb penalty at Windsor 6 days ago. Ought to give his running again.
Veteran hasn't won for nearly 3 years. Deserves credit for recent consistency, though, finishing 3¼ lengths third (fourth successful since) in similar company at Nottingham 7 weeks ago. Place claims.
Lightly-raced 3-y-o. Best effort in handicaps came when beaten 6¾ lengths here (1½m) on penultimate start. No improvement for addition of cheekpieces at Southwell (11f) since. First-time blinkers/return to this course will need to spark improvement.
Low-mileage sort. Progressed with each start so far this season, posting a career best when ½-length second of 5 here (1¼m, soft) in mid-June. The one to beat if he can reproduce that form under quicker conditions following 10 weeks off (reportedly injured in transit when entered here last month).
Didn't kick on as juvenile following promising debut third at Kempton. Back on track to some extent when beaten less than 7 lengths on return/handicap bow at Kempton in early-July. Hard to be confident he'll find the required improvement returning to turf over a longer trip, though.
In-form 3-y-o maiden. Didn't see out the longer trip as well as the first 2 when beaten 1½ lengths in first-time cheekpieces at Nottingham (1¼m) latest. May meet a similar fate off an unchanged mark.
Saxon Warrior filly. Half-sister to a useful sprinter. Badly in need of the experience 2 starts prior to finishing 5¼ lengths fourth of 5 in a steadily-run event (1¼m) at Windsor. In the right hands to do better now handicapping, for all she still has stamina to prove.

Forecasts
Grand Pier (9/4), Symphony's Song (5/1), The Anthony Gover (6/1), Revich (6/1), Hotel California (8/1), Fast Steps (8/1), Takeitorleaveit (10/1), Brave Leader (14/1), Sahm Naif (16/1), Tales Old As Time (16/1)
GRAND PIER looks the percentage call following his close second over C&D in June. Fast Steps could be the main danger if ridden with a bit more restraint. Revich, Takeitorleaveit and Symphony's Song are others to consider in an open-looking finale.
