Has taken his form up to a useful level switched to handicaps/fitted with a visor, winning 4 times with latest success at Doncaster (1m) in April. Good efforts upped to 1¼m the last twice, showing a willing attitude when runner-up at Chester, and he can give his running once more.
Doubled his tally at York in May before bumping into a progressive type when second of 3 at Salisbury (1½m) next time. Unsuited by the drop back to 1¼m when well held in the John Smith's Cup at York 20 days ago, so he could still have more to offer at around this trip.
Fitted with tongue strap, didn't need to improve when getting off the mark in a Chepstow novice (1¼m) in May. However, he found things too competitive when down the field in Golden Gates Handicap at Royal Ascot, so has something to find up in distance.
Confirmed debut promise when scoring at Salisbury in May, before completing a very simple task against her sole rival at Yarmouth. Not discredited when fourth of 9 in listed race at Longchamp 6 weeks ago and this well-bred filly remains with potential making handicap bow.
Made a winning debut at Lingfield and shaped well when runner-up next 2 starts, bumping into the now smart Lost Boys on handicap debut at Sandown in April. Looked rusty after 8 weeks off when below par at Royal Ascot, so he's worth another chance with cheekpieces now added.
Remains a maiden but runner-up 5 of 6 starts for George Boughey this season (respectable seventh of 19 at Royal Ascot his only other occasion). Unable to justify favouritism in a Yarmouth maiden (1¼m) last time and blinkers now the choice of headgear.
Shaped encouragingly first 2 starts, before taking a big step forward upped to 1¼m when winning maiden at Pontefract 24 days ago. Impressed with the way he went through the race last time and he's open to further improvement as he goes handicapping.
Confirmed debut promise when winning a Nottingham maiden (1m) in May (form boosted since) but raced freely when fourth of 11 in novice at Windsor 18 days ago. Will need to settle better significantly up in trip for handicap bow.
Not the most straightforward under pressure but has run well in blinkers last 2 starts, getting up late to open account in 5-runner handicap at Newbury 2 weeks ago. Task is now to build on latest effort as he goes up in grade.
Three-time juvenile scorer who resumed his progress when winning 5-runner handicaps at Thirsk and Newmarket earlier this month. However, he found things tougher upped into a class 2 when sixth of 8 here on Wednesday.
Won twice at 2 yrs, including 7f nursery here in October, and good effort when making the frame in Newbury handicap (1m) on return. Hasn't kicked on in 2 subsequent outings, though, and was no match for the first 2 when third of 5 back at Newbury (11f) 2 weeks ago.
Off the mark at fifth time of asking when landing 5-runner maiden at Windsor in May. Took a step forward sent handicapping despite finishing last of 3 at Salisbury on latest outing (Pearl River ahead in second), but more needed with cheekpieces applied.
Much improved when making a successful handicap debut at Nottingham (1¼m) last month, readily getting the better of a next-time-out winner, and shaped very well when going close at Newbury 22 days ago. Not taken lightly with this longer trip promising to suit.

Having progressed with each of his first 3 starts, INTO THE LIGHT had excuses at Royal Ascot last time so he remains capable of better with his yard going well. He gets the vote ahead of Astracornus, who remains capable of better as he goes up in trip, with Pierian also one to note as she makes her handicap debut.

- Pierian17/2
