Phoenix of Spain colt who went close under an attacking ride at Wolverhampton (8.5f) early last month. Very disappointing on turf debut when last of 5 in maiden at Ffos Las (1¼m, good to firm) 4 weeks later but can leave that behind quickly returned to 1m.

Victor Ludorum gelding who had a breathing operation prior to his debut but showed ability when second of 6 in novice at Hamilton (8.3f, firm) on debut a fortnight ago, making no impression on winner but pulling clear of rest. Can take a step forward here.

Lucky Vega gelding who was in a tongue tie on debut and wasn't seen to best effect from an outside draw when sixth of 9 in maiden at Wolverhampton (7f) just under 2 weeks ago. Significant improvement needed to get involved.

€36,000 2-y-o, Lucky Vega colt. Half-brother to 3 winners, including German 1¼m winner Sayulita and French 13f-14.4f winner Idaten. Dam, French 1m winner who stayed 1¼m, half-sister to smart 2-y-o 7f winner Salve Del Rio. Market check needed.

Gleneagles filly who lacked the experience of the winner and couldn't justify good support when second of 5 in maiden at Ripon (1m, good) on debut earlier in the month. Fancied to improve with that initial effort under her belt.

Forecasts

Queen's Hame (6/4), Marquessofanglesey (15/8), Salvezza (9/2), Matter Of Britain (10/1), Time Alone (14/1)

Verdict

MARQUESSOFANGLESEY went within a flared nostril of opening his account at Wolverhampton on penultimate start so, provided he's able to leave a lesser effort over 1¼m on turf behind since, Charles Hills' colt gets the nod over Queen's Hame, who was unable to justify odds-on favouritism on debut but should improve plenty for that initial experience. Matter of Britain can fill out third.
