All 3 wins on all-weather, with latest over 7f here in March last year. Yet to hit top form in trio of starts this season, albeit racing too freely minus usual hood (refitted now) when seventh of 9 in handicap at Carlisle (6f) 3 weeks ago. Mark has eased further ahead of this.

Returned in good heart this spring, building on a pair of placed efforts in classified company when resuming winning ways in 8-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (5f) in May. Absent since but Billy Loughnane aboard for return and he's well worth considering.

Due Diligence filly who is progressing gradually, building on previous efforts when fourth on qualifying run at Doncaster (6f) 4 weeks ago. Type yard do well with in handicaps and there could yet be more to come now tackling the minimum trip for the first time.

5/1
C&D winner who is hard to win with and yet to get going this season, given far too much to do even allowing for a tardy start when eighth of 12 at Redcar (6f, good to firm) in May. Returns to the minimum trip and yard have been amongst the winners.

Gustav Klimt gelding who showed something like debut form without threatening when sixth of 9 in a Nottingham novice (5f) at the start of the month. Switch to handicaps in his favour now, so one to note in the betting for positive vibes.

5/2
Consistent and versatile maiden who ran well when third over 7f at Ayr on penultimate start in June. Similar form when fifth back over 6f at that venue 3 weeks ago and he ought to give another good account with blinkers back on in place of cheekpieces.

Course winner who posted best effort of this season when second over C&D in June but proved too free when last of 7 in handicap at Hamilton earlier this month. Others rate stronger.

Second on handicap debut (good to soft) at Catterick and quickly got back on the up when going close in an 8-runner event at Beverley (5f, good to firm)11 days ago. However, not in same form when fourth at Southwell on Thursday.

Has yet to achieve much of worth, although he was caught wider than ideal when seventh of 9 in 6f Carlisle handicap 7 weeks ago. Improvement required back at the minimum trip.

Forecasts

Ellie's De Vega (5/2), Too Much (7/2), Black Cab (4/1), Let's Go Hugo (5/1), Auradue (12/1), Sugar Bon Bon (14/1), A Lady Forever (14/1), Sparkling Wine (16/1), Sally Anne's Dream (40/1), Breeze Star (50/1)

Verdict

BLACK CAB was operating firmly at the top of his game when last seen in the spring and with the booking of Billy Loughnane firmly catching the eye back from a break, he could well be the way to go. Ellie's de Vega is proving consistent over a variety of trips and is feared, with Let's Go Hugo also making each-way appeal at likely longer odds.
