Mixed form early this year, his best effort coming when second at Newcastle (1¼m) in January. Hit and miss back hurdling after but made an encouraging start back on the Flat for new connections (left Jedd O'Keeffe) when third of 10 in handicap at Carlisle (11f) 19 days ago. Longer trip should suit.

Easily got off the mark at Ffos Las last June and backed it up with a solid third at Bath next time. Disappointing upped to this sort of trip (should stay) after at Goodwood but is entitled to need this comeback run after 9 months off (left Ed Walker 13,000 gns).

Winner over hurdles at Perth and on the Flat at Musselburgh last summer. Turned in his best effort of the season in a refitted tongue strap when 6½ lengths second of 5 to Cascade Hall in handicap at Musselburgh (2m, good to firm) 38 days ago. Mark has eased another 1 lb since.

Capitalised on a very easy lead to make winning return at Ayr and doubled his tally for the season when beating Simple Star at Musselburgh in June. Has run respectably under now trademark aggressive tactics both starts since and there doesn't appear to be another obvious front runner in opposition.

Three-time C&D winner got off the mark for the year at Hamilton last month. Wasn't seen to best effect next time and quickly returned to form when third of 8 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm, 6/1) last week. Should give another good account.

Veteran remains winless since a course hat-trick last spring. Hasn't looked like capitalising on falling mark of late and he's probably vulnerable again from 2 lb out of the weights.

Forecasts

Cascade Hall (9/4), Annandale (9/4), Inappropriate (10/3), Simple Star (11/2), Glasses Up (12/1), Simply Ruby (28/1)

Verdict

CASCADE HALL has come in for aggressive front-running rides over staying trips on his last 2 starts and with no obvious alternative pace angle in opposition, he might be able to pull that strategy off over a trip that will place less emphasis on stamina. Stablemate Annandale and Inappropriate are also respected.
