7/4

Won at Thirsk from this mark in May and notably has 2 C&D wins to his name, including this race last year. Likely to make his presence felt in defence of his crown.

Beyond Borders^p,t¹⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 10-0| J: William Pyle| T: K Frost| OR: 73| D

5/1

Better at the start when won Wolverhampton handicap in first-time tongue strap in June and then produced a good second of 6 at Ripon 17 days ago despite a 4 lb rise. Still looks well treated on old form and can go well again assuming he doesn't revert to his slow-starting ways.

Form: 06-7612

(5)

Acclaimed Freedom²⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: Rowan Scott| T: George Scott| OR: 74

5/2

Showed improved form when back sprinting for the first time since his debut, finishing second of 10 in a handicap at Windsor 26 days ago. Has shown a high head carriage but he's one of the least exposed and looks a major player for in-form yard.

Form: 41-862

(2)

Zarinca³²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: P Mulrennan| T: E Bethell| OR: 72| D

11/2

Won a maiden at Southwell in April (beating a subsequent winner) but only sixth of 8 in a handicap at Pontefract in June on turf debut, looking possibly unsuited by the track and its gradients. Needs to bounce back but this flatter track should suit.

Form: 27-16

(8)

Charlie Boyo^t²⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: Georgia Dobie| T: C G Cox| OR: 72

20/1

Runner-up on debut at Salisbury last May but off a year following second 2-y-o start and neither outing in 2026 has been promising.

Form: 25-69

(7)

Duskaura¹⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 9-6| J: T Eaves| T: A W Carroll| OR: 71

10/1

Yet to win in 4 runs since joining yard in February, but produced a creditable fourth of 8 at Goodwood 15 days ago. Stable remains in flying form but step up in trip needs to bring about some progress for her to figure here.

Form: 58-4664

(6)

Macanudo¹⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 8-11| J: Mikey Sheehy| T: Ian Williams| OR: 55

28/1

Recorded sole win in early-2024 and recent return from 14 months off was devoid of promise so he's easy to pass over despite stable's good form.

Form: 84647-0

Forecasts

Emperor Caradoc (7/4), Acclaimed Freedom (5/2), Beyond Borders (5/1), Zarinca (11/2), Duskaura (10/1), Charlie Boyo (20/1), Eartha (20/1), Macanudo (28/1)

ACCLAIMED FREEDOM is unexposed as a sprinter, improving when runner-up last time and he can resume winning ways here. Emperor Caradoc won this race last year and looks sure to give it a good go up against younger rivals, while Zarinca could figure if proving herself as effective on turf.
