Laura Horsfall Racing Club Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Off time: 20:18 | Winning time: 4m 46.24s

Lady Kara^h,t¹⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 12-2| J: Luke Scott⁽³⁾| T: Dr R Newland| OR: 112

10/3

Thriving over hurdles and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat to complete a hat-trick at Newton Abbot 18 days ago (lost her place but came back in tremendous style in the straight). However, opening mark looks harsh and tendency to jump right may prove a bigger issue now sent chasing.

Form: 42-3111

Therhythmofthenite^t²⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-11| J: Tom Cannon| T: M Gates| OR: 107

16/1

Encouraging start with fourth in Punchestown maiden hurdle in November. Below that form since but was ridden with an eye on the future when remote third of 5 on chase/handicap debut at Warwick 4 weeks ago on debut for this yard.

Form: 483-3

Lakefield Flyer^t²⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 11-11| J: Paddy Hanlon⁽⁵⁾| T: J J Hanlon| OR: 107| D

11/2

Won at Downpatrick (good to firm) last summer but not at best for a while now, though trip too far latest.

Form: 39F-527

Delpotro^t³¹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-9| J: S Bowen| T: C E Longsdon| OR: 105| D

3/1

Front runner who goes particularly well at Sedgefield, notching second success at that course in September. However, has looked out of sorts last 2 starts so plenty to prove now.

Form: 1243-24

Glenmalure Flyer^t⁴^{(ex 7)}

Age: 8| Weight: 11-3| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR: 92

11/8

Just modest form over hurdles in 2023/24 but has plenty of pointing experience and looked a different proposition starting out for powerful new connections when scoring in impressive fashion at Bangor on chase bow on Friday. Obvious claims under a penalty.

Form: 22351-1

Forecasts

Glenmalure Flyer (11/8), Thickthorn Tom (9/4), Delpotro (3/1), Lady Kara (10/3), Lakefield Flyer (11/2), Therhythmofthenite (16/1)

THICKTHORN TOM shaped as if still ahead of his revised mark when second at Market Rasen and it looks significant that Harry Skelton has plumped for him over stablemate Glenmalure Flyer, who made an impressive winning yard/chase debut at Bangor on Friday.
