Never Ordinary At bet365 Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off time: 14:18 | Winning time: 5m 0.27s

Flying Ace²¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: Harry Skelton| T: G Elliott| D

1/2

Built on a promising hurdles debut when winning at Cartmel in May and showed much improved form to get the better to 2 fellow last-time-out winners in a 7-runner novice hurdle (3/1) at Perth (2½m, good to soft) 3 weeks ago, soon clear after quickening to lead before the last. The one to beat.

Form: 34-411

Jetbob⁵⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 11-2| J: Benjamin Poste| T: Mrs R Gasson| D

9/1

Winning pointer caused a 28/1 upset to make a winning start under Rules in a 13-runner hunter chase at Punchestown (2½m) at the start of May. Seen to very good effect under an enterprising ride there and he'll likely prove flattered by the manner of that success. Has left Sam Thomas Doyle (£28,000).

Form: 21/3P61-

Not Now^p1²¹⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: N & W Twiston-Davies

66/1

Looked a longer term prospect when third of 4 in a Newton Abbot bumper in October and was well beaten in a stronger race at Hereford the following month. First-time cheekpieces go on his for his hurdles debut after a 7-month absence.

Form: 30-

Way Maker²⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Shane Fenelon⁽⁵⁾| T: M Bowen| OR: 107

9/4

Dual bumper scorer last term who ran with promise when third of 13 in novice at Perth (2m, soft) on hurdles bow. Shaped as if still needing the experience when second of 5 in a similar race at Southwell (2½m, good) 26 days ago and he should prove the biggest threat to Flying Ace.

Form: 110-32

Non-Runners

Moi Mon Vieux²⁶

Weight: 10-10| Age: 4

T: R Hobson J: J J Burke

Forecasts

Flying Ace (1/2), Way Maker (9/4), Moi Mon Vieux (11/2), Jetbob (9/1), Not Now (66/1)

FLYING ACE concedes weight to all of his rivals here but looks a useful prospect and can complete the hat-trick at the chief expense of Way Maker. Moi Mon Vieux is most interesting of the 3 hurdles newcomers.
