Has placed in both handicaps around 21f and today's slightly longer trip promises to suit him even better if anything. Respected under Sean Bowen.
Produced his best effort to date when second of 14 in maiden hurdle (150/1) at Chepstow (2m, good to firm) in April. Only sixth on 2m Southwell handicap debut 19 days ago and now takes a significant step up in trip.
Pulled up on his last 3 starts over fences but better signs back hurdling in a visor here at the previous meeting, including third to the reopposing Path of Stars over this trip.
Three-time chase winner for Rebecca Menzies in 2024 and got his head back in front in 21f course chase (good) 5 weeks ago. Well beaten in his previous handicap hurdle at Sedgefield in January but should have some scope from his lower mark in this sphere.
Remains winless for current yard and ran poorly at Warwick on latest start 7 weeks ago. Others are much more obvious.
Placed in a pair of good-ground bumpers and improved on low-key maiden/novice hurdle form when in the frame in handicaps at Doncaster and Market Rasen late in 2025. Possible he needed a recent Uttoxeter outing after 6 months off and enters calculations with that behind him.
No impact in maiden/novice hurdles for Maurice Barnes but made a very positive start to his handicap career for new yard when second of 11 over C&D (good) 5 weeks ago. Taken to build on that now.
Remains winless. His third of 10 in 2½m Perth handicap shows he has it in him to be competitive from a basement mark but he pulled up at Hexham since.
Improved from chase debut fitted with cheekpieces/tongue strap when second in 21f handicap here on Friday. Back over hurdles now.
Got off the mark in 10-runner C&D handicap (good) 5 weeks ago. Should remain competitive off 4 lb higher.

Masterminding (3/1), Roi Du Roume (3/1), Fine As Wine (6/1), Imperial Rule (7/1), Path Of Stars (8/1), Alvesta (8/1), Poetry Man (10/1), Wakey Wakey Man (10/1), Ballynoe Boy (12/1), Seeyainthesuninn (14/1), Kantagua Du Large (25/1), Caspada (40/1)
MASTERMINDING made a good start to his handicap career for the James Moffatt yard when second over C&D last month and can go one place better now. Ballynoe Boy should be spot on for this after a recent comeback outing at Uttoxeter and is second choice ahead of Fine As Wine and Irish raider Wakey Wakey Man.
