Colegram¹⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton

4/5

Won a couple of Irish points in the spring and showed up well on her debut under Rules when third of 9 in novice hurdle at Newton Abbot (17f, good) a fortnight ago. Longer trip unlikely to pose a problem so she's high on the shortlist.

Form: 5/311-3

Little Twig⁴⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-6| J: Kielan Woods| T: Nick Scholfield

10/1

£19,000 5-y-o, Order of St George mare. Closely related to fairly useful hurdler Long Branch. Dam unraced sister to top-class chaser (stayed 25f) Nacarat. Placed on second of 2 starts in Irish points (May 8). Worth keeping an eye on.

Form: 7-3

Mirabello⁴⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-6| J: Isabelle Ryder⁽⁵⁾| T: Jamie Snowden

4/1

Has progressed in each of her 3 starts in bumpers, suited by a race that placed more emphasis on stamina when second of 10 at Newton Abbot (17f, good to soft) just over 6 weeks ago. Looks an interesting hurdling newcomer in context of this race.

Form: 54-2

Moonshine River¹³⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: C Gethings| T: A Ralph

13/2

Sea Moon mare. Half-sister to useful hurdler Johnson's Blue. Dam (c97/h104) bumper/17f/19f hurdle winner (stayed 3m). Maiden Irish pointer, third last time (Feb 8).

Form: F7/5223-

Pearl Knot

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: Jack Tudor| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero

20/1

Gentlewave filly. Half-sister to modest chaser Pearl Island. Dam (h102), ungenuine 2¾m/3m hurdle winner, closely related to useful hurdler/chaser (2½m-4m winner) Captain Cattistock. Market should be a good guide to expectations on debut.

Form:

Psychologicaldrama¹²⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: Stan Sheppard| T: C Boultbee-Brooks| OR: 93

6/1

Showed ability in junior events at Leicester/Ludlow in the winter but beaten by more than the 10-week absence in similar event at Wetherby (2m, soft) in February. Off another 4 months since and betting check advised starting out for a new yard.

Form: 366-

Forecasts

Colegram (4/5), Mirabello (4/1), Psychologicaldrama (6/1), Moonshine River (13/2), Little Twig (10/1), Pearl Knot (20/1), Brenda Lady (125/1)

Dual point winner COLEGRAM showed up well when third on her Rules debut at Newton Abbot a fortnight ago and with this longer trip likely to pose no problems, Dan Skelton's 6-y-o gets the nod over Mirabello, who progressed in each of her 3 starts in bumpers and looks an interesting hurdling newcomer in context of this race. Little Twig completes the shortlist.
