Zarak gelding from the family of top-class winner up to 1½m Azamour who has improved with each run to date, opening account in 1¼m Leopardstown maiden in April before finishing second of 5 to Limestone in 13f listed race at Navan. Step up to 1¾m may unlock more with first-time cheekpieces applied.

Progressive at 2 yrs without winning and has continued on an upward trajectory this season, comfortably landing the odds in a 1¼m novice at Yarmouth on his return and just touch off in a small-field listed event at Goodwood (11f) on most recent outing. Step up to 1¾m not certain to suit, though.

Galiway colt who built on his debut promise when staying on well to land a well-run 1½m maiden at Chester last month, well on top finish. Sure to be suited by the still longer trip on that evidence and looks very promising.

New Bay colt who continues to rise through the ranks, taking the step up in class and distance in his stride as he completed the hat-trick in 5-runner listed race at Navan (13f, good to soft) last month, albeit aided by a well-judged ride. Has a likeable attitude and one to keep on right side of.

Well-bred Palace Pier colt who made it 2 wins from 3 starts in handicap company in first-time cheekpieces at Chester (1½m) last month but this demands a whole lot more.

Progressive as a 2-y-o, twice a runner up before posting very good fifth in Newmarket's Zetland Stakes in October. Reappeared with an all-the-way win in 4-runner novice at Redcar (1¼m) and ran well back up in grade in Chester Vase and has got the physical scope for further progress. Tongue strap on.

Well-bred Frankel colt who showed bags of promise when runner-up in a useful 1¼m Yarmouth novice on debut in April and didn't need to reproduce that form to land the odds at Newbury (1¼m) since. Looked a little less than straightforward but he's bred to stay at least 1½m and retains potential.

Useful form at 2 yrs, winning 1m maiden at Punchestown and finishing third in 9f Leopardstown Group 3. Showed improved form fitted with first-time cheekpieces when fifth of 10 in strong 1¼m Newbury handicap on reappearance last month, shaping as though 1½m+ will suit even better.

Lope de Vega colt who improved with each run as at 2 yrs. Cheekpieces fitted when a good third of 8 on his handicap debut/reappearance at Newmarket (1¼m) prior to opening his account in 1½m maiden at Salisbury. Likely to stay this still longer trip but has plenty on at the weights.

Hails from a family that has brought plenty of success to connections, including at the highest level, and has looked a bright prospect in winning both his starts to date, latterly 4-runner novice at Haydock (1½m). Step up in trip likely to suit and he's an interesting contender up in grade.

Out of a Group 3 winner in France and won by a street on his introduction in a Newcastle novice (1m) in March. Found the Feilden Stakes coming too soon in his development next time and made short work of the drop back in grade at Salisbury (1¼m). Likely to stay 1¾m and remains open to improvement.

Forecasts

Galiyan (2/1), Limestone (10/3), Point Of Law (7/1), Port Of Spain (9/1), Ravenspire (10/1), Del Maro (12/1), Asakir (12/1), Wareeth (20/1), Mr Colonel (22/1), Ranga Tang (40/1), Magnetude (100/1)

Verdict

GALIYAN was notably strong at the line when opening his account in a well-run 1½m maiden at Chester in May, which bodes well for further improvement over this still longer trip, so he's fancied to take the rise in class in his stride in what doesn't look the strongest renewal of this Group 2. Limestone has a likeable attitude which is sure to continue to stand him in good stead now that he tackles even better company, while Port of Spain promises to be suited by the further increase in trip.
