French recruit who showed improved form upped markedly in trip when close second on handicap debut over C&D in April. Failed to handle the undulations of Ripon subsequently, so well worth another chance in first-time cheekpieces.
Twenty two runs since last win in 2024 but is down to a handy mark if stripping fitter for his reappearance. Cheekpieces reapplied.
3-time winner on all-weather who is yet to fire this year, albeit probably unsuited by the drop back to 1m on most recent start. Has gone well on turf in the past.
Hasn't matched the best of her novice form since switching to handicaps, including back on all-weather at Southwell on latest start. Step up in trip needs to bring about improvement.
Has yet to build on his stable debut promise back in December, faring no better after 4 months off at Redcar on latest start. Up in trip.
Strong in the market and took advantage of a reduced mark with more in hand than the bare margin implies on 1m Newcastle reappearance. Remains well treated on old form and can go well again if seeing out the extra 2f.
Successful 3 times last year, including a division of this corresponding event, and returned to form when third of 10 over 1m here on most recent outing. Must enter calculations back up in trip.
Seems more straightforward nowadays and notched up a hat-trick last year. Took a step back in the right direction when fifth of 11 in 1¼m Ripon handicap 16 days ago and now below last winning mark.

Forecasts
Finlaggan (5/2), Holly Mist (5/1), Bay Dream Believer (11/2), Everyoneknowsadave (11/2), Distinction (6/1), Pol Roger (15/2), Thequietman (10/1), The Cookstown Cafu (18/1)
FINLAGGAN can have his latest effort at Ripon easily overlooked having failed to handle the track and is well worth another chance based on his excellent second over C&D the time before. The Cookstown Cafu remains well treated on the back of his Newcastle success and seems sure to go well if seeing out the 2f longer trip, while last year's winner Distinction also needs considering having returned to form on his most recent outing.
